  1. I don't seem to be able to register for this, tried on 30th march and filled all form out but never got the email, tried re-registering but it say email is in use. Have now used different email address and user name but still not received the confirmation back. Anybody else had any problems?

  3. Looks like me and the wife will be coming now although we wont get there untill dinner time on Monday as her night shift doesn't finish untill 8 then its 2.5hr drive. Hopefully won't miss all the fun.

Does the tintop gate fee get you into the hall or is that extra? might aswell try to get some bits whilst I there.

  4. I have a picasso (spit) that seems to garther moister from the air, even the slightest breath gathers on the windscreen and runs down. Its starting to make me think there must be water in there somewhere but we have cubby holes in the floor and theres no water in there.

I once had a car where the rear window used to creep down very slightly over time, not enough to notice but would let rain in at the right angle which would then make the back seat wet, only found out what it was after using a pressure washer :search:

    We/ I really want a Zafira VXR the picasso's a heap of cr@p.

  5. Nipped to work in the Hood yesterday and just as I pulled into the carpark and put my front wheels over the rubber cliff face known as the speed bump my clutch cable snapped and stalled the engine

Was a bit of a struggle to push the back over the bump and into a parking space as I didn't dare start it in gear surounded by a couple of new BMWs and an Audi TTs with my luck.

Got my work done then rang for my lift home, ordered a new cable so should be fixed at weekend :D

  6. Daft question, the one in Dan's ebay link, is that a bolt on job with no welding? looks like it fits between original boss and steering wheel which is what I'm after. Don't want a weld on one as i'm thinking of changing the front end setup and it would really bug me if it was then out of line afterwards if that makes sence.

  7. Just been watching this, makes me cringe the way he bends drills and over tightens everything!

I think the car in SVA is the same one, just that hes changed mirrors and taken the centres off the wheels, the car he drives in the titles is blue so deff. not his  I think the final one is on tomorrow on Quest so I'll see which one he lets the instructor drag up and down the track.

Best quote so far "the brake master cylinder has 2 holes, the one closest to the servo is for the back so the back brakes first and stops you tipping over nose first"

  8. I bought a cheap 24v hammer/drill from focus for £20 came with 2 batteries aswell and its served me well, don't expect to drill big holes in walls or use for high speed though they just dont have the grunt of 110/240v. I've used Dewalt alot on site working with stainless and they are good but abit pricey, they had two range settings for high speed low torque and high torque low speed which was handy. Aslong as you look after the batteries and don't just leave them on charge all the time they all seem to last well.

  9. I currently have 28/30 DFTH 2A01 with the electronic stepper moter all wired in, will this be restricting my 2.0l engine? as I believe its off a 1.6 (info from haynes)

either way I think I'll have it, I'll pm my address so you can get cost of postage.

  10. I'm after some hose to suit the top and bottom of my rad, just after either 2 - 90deg elbows or 180deg that I can cut up as I want to mock up for a rad re-mount in the nose cone but its a bit tight on space.

Don't want to cut the one I have incase it doesn't work out.

not sure where the rads from other then its Ford, see pic below.

  11. I do like the RS200 kit, bit pricey though! I only made it to 2 shows last year, Newark in the tintop as a detour (quite a long one) onto silverstone for the F1GP and Stafford, I must admit the admision fee into the halls is a bit steep if your not after anything inparticular, I wanted to try some seats for size and having a few in one place was handy.

I used to go to many modified car events alover the country with my MGZR and there was always something new to look at but they got a bit samey after a while and expensive, became more of a gathering point for freinds to meet up and have a laugh then with the car show coming second. Good freinds make these events worth attending in my opinion.

  12. After years of working with stainless I always use copper slip, it prevents the threads 'picking up' which basically means they weld themselves together.

I just use it out of habit, its also good for high temp aplications such as spark plug thread and back of brake pads etc

  13. the problem i have is the number of repeated pages month after month, kitcar recently did iva section 3 times in 3 months then had the same section repeated as a tech talk feature further in the mag! if you take out the repeats (and repeated adverts) it would be 10 pages long.

Also while i'm ranting, why print small font in black over light grey with diagonal lines running across it. nearly went blind reading that page. (add your own innuendo here).

    Rant over.....
