  1. Starting to think about this year's winter project. Is getting your cylinder head flowed properly and possibly fitting a better head gasket a worthwhile task?

Will you get more power, is the cost worth it, is the ST170 already done?

  2. I received a marketing email from kits spares today, so I visited the site. But for the first time ever there was nothing I needed. Even the throttle bodies which look nice and would improve my car didn't flick my switch.

    What does this mean?

  3. With most kits you cannot get the wheels down without more weight, slicks and probably some form of launch control ECU.

Even with nitrous I am not expecting anything near to 4 seconds.

  4. Missing all the car events with C19 lockdown. Let's have a virtual meet on the forum for others to watch.

    Hi all,

many thanks for the replies, looks as though I am going away from Robin Hood and aiming for a sub 4 sec. 0 - 60 container, be that a Westfield/Caterham. Lotus are now far too expensive, Patrick McGoohan has a lot to answer for. My aim was to once again relive the experience I once had owning an old S2 Lotus 7 which had breathtaking acceleration.  Of course my recollections are from the late 60's when most cars were lucky to get to 60mph. However I have a Merc. SL500 and that doesn't feel so fast. I have joined the club and at the end of the day a kit car is a kit car and many of the problems will be of a similar nature. This is obviously a lively club and perhaps you may accept a Kit owner who does not necessarily own a RH!. (If not I fully understand and will seek pastures elsewhere). Once again thanks for the advice and responses.

You are more than welcome in the club, we accept all makes of kit cars and have many makes of kit cars.

  6. Going to tidy up the garage soon but the floor is a mess, little bits breaking up, oil stains and many shades of concrete.

What's the best option to cover the floor to make it easy to clean, I can park the car on or use axle stands when needed?

Ideally done once and forget solution.

  7. Firstly, not that type you dirty minded person! This is a family friendly forum.

We do not see each other cars at car shows, so lets keep the forum going and share a picture of the front view of your kit car. All going well it will help to generate ideas for newbies.

    Thank you
