  8. Just got back from Donnington took all the family 2 cars Lesley and big tent cooker kitchen sink etc in tin top me in the Hood. The forecast looked a bit iffy. left with a little bit of rain so no roof, but with waterproofs on. All well and good until Leicester then the heavens opened still kept going about 20mph also road works and bridges had no hard shoulder. Only 1 more junction to go went to turn off then realised that sat nav was not saying to turn off pull back on motorway come off at next junction the realise Lesley not behind me. OOPS. She has tent tickets and kids??. Made my way back to the services at the Donnington turn and Fill up still no sign. Andrew normally takes his phone but had no credit so left at home. Then my phone rings its Andrew we are at Donnington track. Right go back to the entrance and I will come along. A Police biker comes back to his bike and shouts accross you are brave still no roof. Arrive at main gate and Lesley and Michael are there waiting stood in the rain I meant use the car to meet me. There had all ready Parked Up Michael shows me where to go. I wanted to go to the camp site but got we are not camping in this so phoned them to let them know. Paddled in to the track entrance had a good look around. Watched some great spins by the model of the spitfire. looked around the padock/pits Then made our way back to the cars spotted some more hoods parked up left Bill a note then decided to drive home with the roof up so Lesley I will follow you OK. She sets off then gets stuck on the wet grass I just about make it up the hill on to hard road. park Jump out to go back to help her and meet Les Welsher and family he came in his Tin top cleaver some of these Hoodies. He helps push us off the grass Thanks. So off home we set get to Dunstable and a jam after 15 mins car starts to over heat pulls over changes fuse to fan and it goes again set off get off M 1 fuse blows stuck in traffic in Dunstable pulls in to Tescos garage leave heater running to cool car down no fuse for sale. take roof off nearly home and its dry stop at next garage to packe of assorted fuses befor we get out of the jam I hav fitted all of one pack. Finaly open road so cools down. back home and change the relay and the right amp fuse all seams OK. 13. This is an extract from a test drive in a Blade and bussa DAX rush i think he liked the Bussa best A dax at the nurburgring Stephen Having got the hang of the Blade installation it was back to Harlow to swap over to the Busa-engined car. With absolutely everyone at the factory telling us of the awesome power on tap and wondering whether we 'd brought a spare pair of trousers, It's fair to say that the change over was with some trepidation. Fire up the 1300cc engine and that trepidation turns to genuine fear - this car sounds like the devil incarnate even at tickover quite unlike the zingy lightweight Blade engine we'd just left. While not wishing to detract from Gary's Blade-engined offering, everything about the factory car shouts production refinement. The rubber-mounted engine and reverse box, along with the special drive shaft, clearly make a huge difference, with this being the most refined bike installation we've yet come across. The gear change is also more precise and has better feel while the lack of panel vibrations make it easier to concentrate on getting the most out of the engine. The Hayabusa unit always has terrific torque figures This is, quite simply, devastating performance that relegates conventional supercars to mere sideline spectators.
  14. Yes but they also have the camber comp thing/system. who is running the book this time? got to be worth a few quid! stephen

  16. Andy I could have used the Granada for a spar engine it was a 2li DOHC? Have been on a training course this week and one of the lads is a biker and showed me some bike speed specks He has a Honda black bird 0 to 160 mph 25 secs and a Hya Bussa 0 to 160 mph 17 seconds. so after seeing both of the Hya bussa cars at the weekend that are going to Barkston heath. I think my money is on them I am afraid to Say. stephen

Wel done an other DOHC on the road soon. Great news Stephen
  20. O k Finlay sorted it the old temp switch would not switch on until 110 c it is meant to switch at 100c and 110 the new one switched ok in a pan of boiling water . the old one did not put in a pan of cooking oil and a thermometer it worked at 110 c so that was naff. The temp Gage did not go in to the red and it all boiled over so that was naff new sender works a lot better. The lack of power to the switch was the main problem after tracing the wires all around the car un wrapping loom checking continuity the wires went back in side the car and under the dash there i found a bright yellow relay with a fuse mounted to it a 30 amp fuse this had blowen and was the mystery fuse 33 and relay not found in the fuse box. Re raped the loom allback togeather and working. what a slog for a blowen fuse 10 hours in all. thinking about it the first Pinto cars did not have an electric fan so must have been added later on so why not in fues box. thanks stephen
  21. Hi I am having a problem with my car over heating the fan is not switching on. have replaced switch and still not working is is a DOHC engine. I only seam to have a few volts to the switch not 12? If i put 12 volts to the feed to fan it works? so where dos this low volts feed come from and where is fuse 33 it no in the fuse box? thanks stephen
