Secure Brake Lines

Hi all,

 

Does anybody know what the minimum space between p clips is supposed to be for securing brake pipes?

You know when you think you know the answer, but dare not say owt incase your wrong.......well I'm gonna break that rule;

 

I'm sure I read somewhere it's every 9 inch?

 

I've never put a car through IVA and that was years ago when I read it so if I was you I'd wait for a more reliable response

There is no mimimum clipping distance, the IVA manual just says "adequately clipped or otherwise supported". For my IVA the pipe were fixed roughly every 200mm and it passed fine. Better to use more clips that necessary, they're not exactly expensive and difficult to fit at a later date.

One near each change of direction & divvy the space in between to around a hand-span; as above you can have too few but never too many; well clips touching MAY be a little excessive!!
