my phone contract came to an end so I thought id go for a sim only deal so I got the phone unlocked put the new sim in for about eight hours it worked fine and then the phone shut down and now it is completely dead it will not even charge its a Samsung galaxy s111 any one got any advice

Do you have to remove the battery to change the SIM? If so suspect bad contact. Definately sounds power related IMHO

It sounds like the battery to me the Samsung batteries are very good but when they go they GO!. get a cheap one of ebay should only be around £5.00

Got a few spare batteries if you wanna try them. Can't see that you have bricked it just by doing what you have

My HTC battery started to last around 14 / 16 hours before needing re-charge.

Bought a brand new battery from Amazon ( billed as genuine HTC) .

Fitted it and it mullered the phone!!

Also, how old is the phone, Samsungs have two years warranty.
