Joey's car doesn't have a servo & it always seems to stop alright (even with those 2 spritely chaps in it... :p :D )

If you get an LSD diff back end it will come with the disks anyway... You can get them off of the XR4 or the cosworth I think. Maybe some others as well.

:D

kool, thanks.

I am looking at getting rid of the sierra pedal set and getting a Balance bar set up in there, using slave pistons, one front and one for the rear.

Anyone else used one in there kit yet?

I am interested to see how they perform with no servo.

Also does anyone know whats the biggest size brakes i can fit under a 15inch wheel?

cheers

i want to use some 4pot calipers on the front, but not sure what size they need to be for 15's.

So are you saying that a Bias pedal box with no servo works well?

cheers

I've got the sierra 240mm disks under 13 inch wheels and using the servo I can lock the front wheels up at 60 with a good push, unless your doing a lot of high speed track stuff I can't really see the need for 4 pot's, sierra's came with different size disks on the front, you might be best off finding an old v6 car to use the front and rear disks and keeping the lsd from that aswell

i love the look of 4pots though.

And i really dont think standard will cope as a want to do track days aswell.

Would sierra Cossy front brakes work? with 15's, arent they 4pots?

cheers

cossy brakes are different on 2wd and 4wd, presume its the 4wd thats are 4 pots, I can understand the look thing, but think you'd have to go for a new aftermarket supplier like wilwood if you want the ultimate bling :p

but in all seriousness, have a ride in a few cars and see how quick you can hit the windscreen, because the sierra was designed to stop something twice as heavy most people struggle struggle for grip before braking force :)

I have a twin master cylinder set-up in my car, mainly due to space restrictions with the turbo. they work ok and I've had no probs with them.

thats exactly why i want the pedal set.

Where did you get yours from? and how much were they? I have only found granada ones or cossy for about £200.

Does it give alot of room and did you have remote Resevoir's or just the pistons?

cheers for the pic too.

Back to the front brakes, i have seen Burton do the wilwood set which look very smart, but i need to know what size to get, as they have the choice of two.

But now people are saying it could be a bit over kill, i am not sure. It is going to have a lot of power and i really want it to brake well as i will use it on the track alot too.

Not sure now.....

does the escort system use the same mounting as the sierra one, or does it need modifying?

Where did you get yours and how much did it set you back?

thanks again for the pic

Goaty,. at 300 bhp Im wondering how youre going to stop the rear end of your car exchanging places with the front end !

Back in '88 I had a Sapphire Cosworth with approx 350bhp as modded by the local RS dealership, Brooklyn Ford. IT was lethal in the wet, and sweet on hot sticky tarmac days. 150-175 bhp in a 2B is as insane as it needs to be given the body weight (or lack of it --------- as the case is :) )

Have Fun.
