Hi

Seat backs fitted, 90% of the rivets in the rear replaced with 10.9 h/t bolts

Under floor box sections madeup but not fitted yet, also now have the alloy to fit to the top box sections running the length of the car.

Started the front shock bracket ( well its a pile of metal bits at mo)

Going to halfords on wednesday to buy the alloy wheels :D :D :D :D :D

After all the extra metal work its back to the build plan and the next thing on it is fuel tank/lines and fitting the loom and test starting the engine!!

In trying to use as much donor as possible the old towbar is being used to make the top shock bracket.

thanks for the good will wishes ,

we all (lightweight builders )appreciate the positive feedback from the other members and the good wishes .

it has enabled us all to be able to commit more time and money to the build process ,

as before the mind set changed we were in despair ,the hill looked to tall to climbe .

the impresion that i have is that if a correctly prepared lightweight is submitted for sva it will be appraised on its merrits ,and may pass or fail depending on the build quality , i may fail on some parts if so they will be rectified and re submitted.

once again thanks

regards graham

I saw Grahams car again last night and it is amazing, the amount of work, the quality and thought that has gone into it. It is a great pity that a bit more thought had not been put into the design to make it into a true road car initially. I suspect that due to the initial bad press? the cars will have to be over specced to compensate. But good luck to all you LWs I am sure the whole club is behind you.

Peter.

ps I suggested Graham should become Tenatious G because that is what he is!
