Why Does The World Have To Stop On A Sunday!

I know this is going off topic slightly and I apologise for that, and no doubt this will either kill the thread or provoke some opinions (again I apologise if that’s the case), but In Hammy’s defence (and I'm not biased honestly) surely he is recommending some alternative advice to someone who wants to get a good insurance deal.

I understand clearly the Asda/Tesco comparison - but unlike Asda/Tesco we as a bunch of enthusiasts aren’t selling anything, would you all be equally disappointed if a member/community user logged on to Locostbuilders?, I suspect the vast majority of people pay for that forum too ….

We all have something in common which is hopefully our hobby and we all contribute in one way or another but I really cant understand why people get so upset when someone refers somebody else on here to a different forum? – very strange?, I'm glad you cant see the PMs I send to any newbie I see in the South telling them about other sites of interest to them – why do I PM?? - Ill let you make your minds up!

So back on topic – Craig – Ring around and ask for different quotes, try and negotiate an agreed value – FP (and others) do a parts only insurance which may work for you but me personally would rather know exactly how much I would get in the event of a tree jumping out in front of me, being 24 though I think you’ll get penalised slightly but these specialist companies are normally cheaper – good luck!

Its a free world to go where and when we like and if someone gives advice to look elswhere then so be it,,,, Sainsbury's is bad advice if you ask me,,,,,,, Waitrose is much better quality for the money, lol

Woah, no need for people to fall out over this topic! At the end of the day it doesn't matter what club I am in, it's always good to know what the cheapest is.... And at the end of the day I am a member of the rhocar forum I officially joined and payed up last week even though I've been on the forum as a guest for 3 years now. But that will not stop me becoming a member of another site if I feel the need and wish to. I'm not going to cancel my rhocar membership to move somewhere else! You can be a member of more than one club... Anyway back on topic. Trying to get insurance was a nightmare and I started to think it wasn't going to happen. All the big companies said not a chance due to my age, the majority including frank pickles need you to be over 30 before they will cover you in a zero. Others wanted me to be over 25.

In the end the one and only offer I got was through Adrian flux. At £500 for the year fully comp. but with a limited mileage of 3000 miles. So I paid the 500 and I'm now insured. I don't think I will cover 3000 miles over the summer( the car won't be used in the winter months) sadly not the best deal for me, but I'm insured! Even more anoying is that the weather today was hurrendous and is looking to be this way all week, so no first drive of the car until its dry!

Sometimes-- only sometimes it's an advantage to be old --- £140 for 9,000 miles --- dry weather driving -- not a chance -- going to Cornwall on Wednesday --- may prove a very soggy trip!! :search:
