Rob, have looked at the possibility of a reed bed but all the info I've come across is for cleaning the water prior to discharge(of water) so it doesn't matter that the water volume disappears by plant absorption. Would be great to have a natural solution,but this year the evaporation rate has exceeded rainfall since May. We catch & store all rainwater from roofs, its just not enough. My fault for digging out the village rubbish tip which was there before.

I am , I am. just that its down the bottom of the garden in the wind & rain with only my Marigolds for protection.

ever thought of using a spin dryer?

No I hadn't --- but now CANCELL THE MANGLE --- will be looking for a simple spin dryer & then I can centrifuge ?? the whole lot including the numerous brushes. Mo will be happy ; she wasn't looking forward to "Mangle Duty" caught her finger in one as a young lass & still can show you the scar.
