well all valves out cleaned and decarboned as well as the head just get christmas out way then have head valve seats converted to unleaded and should have rest of engine ready by then lol

I have been running an leaded head 2L pinto for 10 years on unleaded. Done 40,000 miles plus and no sign of valve seat regression.

On the other hand its your money.

its n ot that expensive to have converted i got qouted £160 that included decarbon which dont need doing now but then i have got four sruds snapped that need removing but needs must

Yes totally agree Dan, as I found out to my cost......almost had valves receed all the way through the head

Stuart try Bland brothers in Barnsley. They did a cracking job on mine. Valve seats, skim, valve guides,valves reground all for £120.00 (cash of course )

You can pick up unleaded injection heads for £150 and they will give you an extra 10bhp out of the box

snapper not too bothered about bhp just want to enjoy the car and tazz there a head master near me used him since i was 18 he is very good and reliable to me and very close and of course he does cash lol

Last time I priced up unleaded inserts fitted it was £40 a hole, an unleaded injection head is about the same 10bhp is a bonus

 

Just my take but you have to fit a gasket so fit a thin one

If you are skimming the head face may as well take a bit more off

All adds up and can effectively give you a more efficient engine ( with added bhp) for the same money your going to spend anyway

the 160 i was qouted was for unleaded conversion a decoke and four studs to be removed that had been snapped i do no the bloke who gonna do it for me and was told that you use the original valve so it keeps costs down but gonna have him check valves for me just incase.yes am having it skimmed too
