Zaffira Dti Engine Problem

Got a strange problem just developed with my zaffira 2.0dti with hot engine at approx 2 - 2500 rpm under load it has devolped an engine rattle its fine at tickover it only happens when you rev it under load.

 

I have my suspensions, if i,m correct it is time to sell it while i can

Whats the miles ?

 

has it got a dual mass flywheel?

 

I think is is the same engine as i had in my alfa JTD GM took it away when they pulled out of fiat

141000 and it is dual mass but there is no real slop in the transmission.

problem i have is the car cost me £650 ive done 20000 trouble free miles in under a year, the car is worth about £1200 as it is but blown engine and its scrap value

Update on the rattle, the engine blew up today on the a52. Seized solid

Did it consume its own oil and rev till it died

 

Sorry it had to blow before you could get rid or fixed

No it was running fine no smoke not using oil. just bang

make sure you keep plenty of petrol in the kit car
