Have you tried driving with the fuel cap off, just wondering if it isn't breathing causing fuel starvation, fuel pipe collapsing.

 

By the time you stop and open the bonnet the fuel line is free again??

I will try it but I don't think its fuel because of the missfire

Possibly a fuel flow issue affecting one carb when you are at a constant load?

I have another set of carbs I can try which came off my pinto

just had a thought I did make a change before I had these problems I was struggling with rev counter and according to the megajolt wiring instructions if the megajolt does not run the tacho then you have to wire it to number eleven port on the eddis 4 unit well there was no connection there so I dissmanteld eddis plug and inserted a connection to number eleven so maybe this had been removed due to problems cos the other eddis unit I have has number eleven port already wired
