Hooray It Runs!

After buying an engine with high compression head and high lift cam off ebay and setting it up with bike carbs and Megajolt and putting much work Into cleaning, painting and wiring it up I finally plucked up courage to see if it would run OK. I ran temporary wiring to the Edis and coupled up a temporary fuel supply. I was advised to disconnect the megajolt so that the engine would fire up under fail safe mode and any ignition problems wouldn't be down to the megajolt. I had already primed the oil pump and turned the engine over to make sure there was oil pressure.

 

Anyway, I gave the keys to "she who must be obeyed" and said start her up! She put the choke on and turned the key. Engine came to compression and fired straight away and settled to an even idle. Let it warm up a bit and revved it. Sounds great! Really healthy roar that should please the neighbours!!

 

Now to finish off the wiring and scuttle area and get it mot'd ready for the summer
