Hi guys

I got my Donor sorted and go to pick it up on Saturday.

BUT

I cant find anyone from whom I can get an insurance policy for less than a year! :boohoo:

Anyone know any companies who do car insurance terms of a week or two ???

Just "Borrow" the donor till you get it home then its insured under your main car policy <_<

Mmm Mind you it has to be already insured for this! :boohoo:

Have you asked your insurers

Sadly Bill - I am a company car driver!

I will ask the company car administrators, but I doubt it. I suspect I am only covered in case of HAVING to use another car whilst mine is in dock.

I think a towed car probably needs insurance :boohoo: :boohoo:

Shoot me down if wrong, but,

I always thought that a car being towed was insured as part of the vehicle doing the towing,

If the towed vehicle cause's a accident doesnt matter if its a trailer, caravan, or a car thats being pulled the claim is from the towing vehicle.

Only thing is, if being pulled on rope or bar driver/ person steering must have a full valid licence.

If on a dolly, or "A" frame then its basically a trailer and as long has there are working signals (either from car or light board) its legal

Someone elses turn to phone the insurance company, I thought that a towed car must be insured, I agree with the full licence bit.

Hey where are all the Policemen when you need them?

You're not wrong Mitch.

Towing vehicle is liable for it and anything else it drags around the highway.

Stand - alone short term policies are almost non-existent and even if you could get one would be quite expensive.

Best bet tow or do you know anyone in motor trade that would drive for you. (Car would be covered under traders policy)

Cheers

Where are you picking car up/from?????

Is it local???

Do you have towbar fiited to your car? do you know anyone who's got a towbar

if so you could hire an A frame bracket /trailer.

Do'nt take any risk ,do not drive car if its not properly insured!!!!!!

I would personally ,bung the seller 20 quid and get him to drop car off

Why not take out a years insurance with a local company over 12 monthly instalments, paying by cheque each month. Then cancel the insurance after you've got the car home......it will of only cost you one months instalment..!!!

T.

or just take out an insurance policy and use your statutory right to cancel a contract(within the first 14 days) to cancell it and get a full refund.
