Cube Fuel Pump

GBS are offering a cube fuel pump for £45 but there are loads on the Bay for £12or so. I'm happy to pay £45 if the GBS one is any different to the cheap chinese ones - any one know if they are any good? Example below:

IMO, I would get one with a recognised name.

Facet are very good pumps.

Make sure you buy one for your specific fuel system, ie carbs or injection.

If you are running carbs, a lower pressure one will do, as long as it has the required flow rate.

If you are running injection, one of these will only do for the low pressure side delivery of fuel to the high pressure pump.

Whatever your system is, with an electric pump I would advise a pressure regulator.

The three line type with a return to tank or filter on the low pressure side is the best type to use.

I cannot comment on the ebay version, but from past experience I purchased a cheaper version and paid the price when it decide to spring a leak on the garage floor. Branded version, from reputable supplier (GBS or others) with full warranty for me.

I have had this one now for over 5 years without issue, minus the steel filter which went straight in the bin, I also have a spare located next to it so a quick swap is possible if needed.

I have duplicates of anything I think may let me down.

Back in my old computing days we used to identify any single point of failure (component failure impact analysis)

I have a spare.....fanbelt, clutch cable, fuelpump & ECU.

These are all things that may fail & strand me, especially if abroad.

Ive used facet pumps in 3 of my cars but the more expensive silver and redtop type still only £60 ish. never had one fail yet.

Make sure they have the higher flow rate not just right psi
