Engine Temp

I doubt you are getting a genuine 120. Your engine would be boiling even with the pressure cap on. So what are you measuring the temp with. Gauge and sender must be correctly matched. IE if the gauge came out of a pinto engined sierra it needs a pinto sender even if you have fitted a DOHC.

Even better is to use an accurate thermometer such as hand held infra-red to measure the engine temp. Then you will know fairly accurately what it is and can see if you genuinely have a problem.
