Attaching Steering Cowling

Recommended Posts

Morning,

Busy but enjoyable day yesterday. I spent the day finishing off my steering cowling purchased from Simon B (thanks Simon).

Then pic is the end result and I'm really happy but I'm stuck, how does the top attach? I don't have stalks yet (on back order with GBS) but I can't see any obvious way. I am considering making a bracket, or there's a potential place for a self tapper behind where the stalks attach on top of column.

It may all become clear when I get stalks but thought I would ask? My column isn't adjustable, if that changes things.

Thanks,

Danny

but close look at the cowl picture above makes me think that Andi's idea is better, as the cowl does not appear to have the inter locking tabs the original Ford bits do

Andi's way is very good but you wil still need the top screw to stop it from waggling about

One half or thr other must be fixed to the column.

GBS have just redone mine so if I remember tomorrow I will post a pic.
