Where is the best place to get either Smith's Telemetrix or something very similar and at a very good price I.e under 400 quid

Have a look at ETB gauges.

They do a seven set for about £400 and it comes with all the sender's to match.

I used eBay to get some MGB and cortina gauges but you then have to play around getting temperature and fuel senders to match. Even then it was a fraction of the ETB gauges.

There are other makes like the ones Car Builders Solutions sell.

Any others will probably stretch to more than £400

The only ones I could find for under £400 were from CBS (about £250) but they didn't look great IMO. Went for the GBS ones eventually at about £400.

 

I did see a quite nice set from VDO for about £300 but they were only available in the US and I got no response by email from a US shop that said they offered international delivery!?

Be aware of the tax on anything purchased from the USA.

Prices in the USA are nearly always before tax.

Then there are the customs duties you get stung for.

EBay's worth a look. I got a full set of telemetrix off eBay. They were new but had been fitted to a dashboard. Got the lot for £140, took the gauges out, sold the dash back on eBay. Gauges effectively cost me about £100!
