Loss Of Power Then Power Again

Hi. When out and about today I was driving along and suddenly lost power but almost as soon as I lost power I got the power back. The engine is a rover t series in the superspec.

 

Any ideas guys would be greatly appreciated as going to 3 sisters track attack on Sunday

Major loss or just a hiccup ? A minor loss could occur if the lambda sensor started misbehaving, although we know yours isn't working Otherwise could be anything really,

could be loss of power from battery cut out of loose ignition connection

My problem on my Zetec was lack of fuel pressure due to a faulty fuel regulator .

I just checked the fuel tank and the metal ring wasn't fully secure it had only been tapped just in. Could this be a probable cause

Fuel pump power connector.

At first it was a minor loss. But gave it a run today to work as tried securing the fuel pump connectors better but it started to splutter. Managed getting to work but now it just won't start

Def sounds fuel / fuel pump related, can you hear the initial prime of the fuel pump when you turn the ignition on normally runs for around 3 seconds( I'm guessing you are fuel injected)

How old are the fuel pipes and what material, they are known to break up, lose strength and collapse. Depends on quality.
