Cylinder head valves

Just setting up the rappers on my refurbished ported head and set exhaust valve to .25mm and inlet to .20mm.  When the valves are fully open they are further out than the cylinder head.

 

is this ok?

The pinto is a non interference engine. If the cam belt snaps, the pistons wont hit the valves at any rotation.

Check the pistons for any valve cutouts (cant remember my old pinto details), and see how far the pistons are below the deck block. Also dont forget the thickness of the head gasket.

My block is at the machine shop.  The pistons are flat with no cut outs.  The head that came off is the same when the valve is fully open.

Bob is right for the pinto as built by ford.

But with higher lift cams and skimmed head non interference is not guaranteed.
