Side lights feed

Should my side lights be switched via a relay and is the fused feed via the battery or ignition switch

There shouldn't be any relays on the side lights and they should be battery fed, not ignition (so they can be left on for parking).

What harness do you have?

I am making my own bespoke harness as I trained as an aircraft electrician many years ago so we’ll within my skill set

I like wiring but even I wouldn't make a harness from scratch. You need to be a special kind of masochist to want to do it when they're available off the shelf for not a lot of money.

I am afraid I am a bit of a perfectionist it has to be the 40+ years in the Aerospace / Defense business + I have loads of time now I am retired I did buy the kit in 2004 so not really rushing.

The Hazard warning feed to all the indicator bulbs should be battery fed also. When you have finished your loom don't forget to top up with loom smoke, mine has escaped on several occasions from my home made loom.
