Laser Alignment (tracking)

Hey all i just had the tracking done on my escort turbo and i got a whole range of prices but my local formula 1 centre done it for £25 quid some places were saying £50-60, what does it cost around ur areas and does it vary from car to car, especiall a robin hood are they much more expensive

My daughter took my kit car to her friends garage to have the tracking done while I was away on holiday , when she asked I thought she meant the wifes run around and said ok . I never seemed to handle very well after that. I done the same as Bill and used a laser level to check it, dam thing was toeing out a couple of degrees :gdit: soon got it back to where I wanted it . got the college to do it after dad took them for a ride around the industrial estate...

I did pay, but they were fairly useless. The rear track is wider than the front track and their fancy four wheel alignment system wouldn't fit, so I had to explain how to do a bodge and make it fit to get some useful readings out of it.

P.S. I don't know if this is how Bill did it, but if you have a laser pointer and can make a bracket to clamp it onto the wheel then you could shine the laser from each wheel onto a wall, then if you measure the distance apart of the two points, the distance apart of the pointers, and the distance from the wheel to the wall then a bit of trig ought to give you your tracking.
