Hi guys,

Is the 2b+ particular about what wheels you stick on it??

I have just finished the front suspension and fitted the front wheels. The only problem is that the cycle wing bracket is pushing into the tyre.

My donor was a GLS i

Have I done something horrendously wrong or is it I need to get new wheels??

Cheers

A lot of people use a spacer to push the wheels out a little just make sure your studs are long enough.

If its just the cycle wing bracket though you should be able to bend or re-weld to fit.

While your at it have a look at the rear wheels with the slight camber on the rear you may foul on full bounce.

The Ford wheels will not fit on the later kits as the cycle wing bracket has been altered so as to only fit with the alloys with the greater offset. If you just want to have it on wheels during the build and don’t want to fit the alloys yet fit the ford steels the wrong way round at least that allows the car to be moved.

I need to get new wheels??
Do a search I seem to think someone put a list of what wheels fit (Peugeot for one) Edited by chris brown

Looks like it the crappy ford alloys that I have that have ballon tyres fitted.

Went down to kwik-fit today and got tyres fitted to two of the array alloys

Good man there, he did it for free :)

Everything now fits fine, just I didn't really want to fit them during the build

Cheers

OUCH,

i will make sure my studs are up to it.

Also have flack jacket and helmet at work ( just insurance for some of the foriegn trips) all i need now is some of those tanky glasses they wear in the desert.

Could be a picture for the calander

Standard sierrra studs are too short for alloys

Does this apply to the RH supplied alloys? I haven't heard mention of any problems with them.

I've thought that they were OK

How many turns did you get.

I thought that mine were OK - I get 6.5 turns to tighten nut onto rim equivalent to 9.75mm

Cheers,

Terry
