  1. I did check that the clothes peg hadn't broken....it was fine
  2. You have to be of a certain generation to remember a kazoo..... Those amongst us have a hazy recollection of the sound they used to make .....may be able to proffer some suggestions as to what is causing the strange noise that has afflicted my 2 litre zetec blacktop... It appears to be coming from below the throttle body..... It is audible, (very), on tickover......... it seems to remain the same when I blip the throttle or increase the revs.. it was intermittent when t started, (30 miles ago)....now it's pretty continuous
  3. Briliant polish...... have used it on every trike and bike I've owned and now "Gladys" gets the Briliant treatment Heritage Steam Supplies....... Internet only
  4. First thing I did....but thanks for the reminder

    Retired.

Retired last November..... Never worked so bl**dy hard in my life since then....haven't had a spare minute to turn round..... Big problem??? it flies by... Advice???... Enjoy it, it's fun
  10. Just swopped out the GBS brackets...not wonderful...went to Retro Ford.....night and day
  11. Thinking back to September last year I was seeing 14.6 at the battery end. with exactly the same set up..except......I have just replaced the brackets on the Alternator....Time to get out a File.... Thanks everyone
  12. Sorry I've taken so long to get back.......... 12.7 volts at the battery and 12.7 volts at the alternator ......multi meter on both
  13. Many thanks for the rapid response chaps and thanks for the help.......
  14. After consulting Haynes Gladys Emmanuel I seek divine inspiration from those assembled herein There are no piccies or caricatures of the front discs of the legendary sierra... Are these discs and calipers from the sierra.
  15. Nice wings..........Where did you get them please
  16. Thanks Ozz....... Bin a difficult month.....not related to Gladys...I'm afraid I took it out on her, her builder and 2 previous owners. You wouldn't want to drive the roads around here now....more potholes and patching than tarmac........even the wonderful a361 as bad on the Banburyside... Still, it's onward and upward on the Gladys front....I'm a bit of a perfectionist....My own worst enemy really
  17. You should never do anything with a head cold....... what an idiot I am....I shall retreat to a corner of the room until I can think of something to say that is not quite so stupid.....I think I'll go back to building trikes
  18. Sorry Bob....me no understand
  19. And the next question is.....does anyone have the original sierra steering wheel boss tucked away in their garage... If so, would they be prepared to sell it to me ?
  20. Thanks Bob for your ,(always), sound advice.... Unfortunately we appear to have another well engineered fitment on what is the long list of well engineered fitments that I have run into "The Gladster". I swore blind I would never put in print on the forum what a crap build she is......but she is...short cut after short cut after shortcut So much so I am considering changing her name to "Gonzo"... In short, I have a very bruised hand,..... This prompted the post in the first place. However, half the fun is fixing these things and I still love her dearly.... Onward and upward and thanks once again
  21. Thank you for your responses Gentlemen..... this means that our friends at Haynes are talking through their proverbials...obviously a typo.. Take it that it's three legged puller on and power up the rattle gun
  22. I have long since ceased to be surprised by some of the "engineering" I find on "Gladys". Decided to fit a removable boss for the steering wheel as my navel gets ever closer to it.... Removed the wheell and the upper part of what is a split boss. I expected to see a nut on the top of the shaft itself, (all Sierra's have a nut holding the wheel boss in place don't they) ...WRONG...., there is a girt bolt screwed into the top of this particular component. So....if it's not sierra..... whot iis it....... Any help will be gratefully received as usual Piccies attached
  23. Not wishing to turn this into a p***ing contest.....Just dug out my council tax bill from last year....gone up by 13%. Too old to move to NZ or I'd be there tomorrow
  24. In the middle of my very long list too. Isn't it amazing how like Topsy it grows....best of luck with yours
