  1. Thanks Matthew. The options are coming in. Once Mike (Mikae) gets all his replies i'll them weigh up. I'll also post them all here in one post for reference. Once again, thanks all. Cheers Al
  2. Hi joel. A bit of help from the other half on this one below. I found a few similar issues to yours on the vistaheads.com forum. Suggestions for a fix involved uninstalling your network adapter and rebooting to allow them to reinstall (just in case, R-click My Computer, click Manage, click Device Manager, double-click network adapters, r-click on network card and select uninstall. May be worth having a peek at the site before uninstalling. I don't understand why this should help but that's the wonders of technology! Hope this helps. Cheers Al (and the other half!!)
  3. Thanks Mike. Cheers Al
  4. Thanks for the pointers lads, i'll let you know how I get on. Cheers Al
  5. Hi Mike, The engine size is 2 ltr, 16v. I believe the engines were the same as installed into the Rover 820 and Coupe, but I may be wrong. I am sure that someone will throw more light on this. I'm always up for a deal, so count me in if you turn up trumps. I'd be looking for a complete kit. If you could work some magic, that would be great. Cheers Al
  6. Hi Nick, Will do. Al
  7. Hi All, Thanks to those who have offered help, (Gavin, Robin, Bob and Joe), for the 1st June. As a starting point, as suggested by Bob, here is a small list of problems, in no particular order: Brake pipe installation (I have braided hoses to replace the RH supplied flexis, but I need to change 1 fitting on each front copper pipe. I have these fittings, but do not have a flaring tool / cutter. If someone has these could they bring down, failing that i'll pop into a garage and ask nicely - sod it, i'll do this anyway) Rear crescent and arches fitting Nosecone infill panels fitting Fuel pipe install (i'll bin the RH supplied pipe and get copper pipe alternative from Tifosi or whoever it is that suplies this) Anything else if time / motivation / butties / nattering allow!! I have ground smooth the welds on the scuttle and plan to make a scuttle 'dummy' plate, as others have done, that will remain in place to fit the 'ancillaries' to. Don't know how far i'll get with this, but I hope to have this ready to fit. Does this all sound a little ambitious guys, or is this realistic for a day? Comments welcomed. If there are special dietry needs, i.e. gluten / wheat allergies, vegetarian etc, then please let me know so that we can get the right grub in. Cheers Al
  8. Cheers Joe, forgot all about Rally Design-doh!! Al

    Zetec Heater?

Hi Joe, There is an ongoing thread about fitting a heater to the SS in fitting and bodywork, giving the pros and cons. What's a youngster like you wanting a heater for anyway, it's us older ones who have to worry...... As one of the threads mentions, just wear more clothes. Cheers Al
  10. Hi All, I know that some SS owners have fitted a remote oil filter to the Rover T series engine models. I have just had a quick search and couldn't see any details, I must have missed something I think. If anyone has any details, suppliers, pipes, take-offs', or complete kit, that they would be willing to divulge, that would be great. Thanks in anticipation. Cheers Al
  11. Hi Andy, Just got round to fitting mine today. It feels a great improvement than the original, even though my car is still in the build stage. Once again, thanks for sorting these out. Cheers Al
  12. Hi Joe, You're more than welcome mate. My build will probably finished just after yours then, haha! If there is any thing I can help out on, just give me a shout. Not sure how much help i'll be, but as the advert says, every little helps. Spent most of today on the car, only got as far as grinding welds smooth on the scuttle and upgraded the standard RH supplied Sierra steering shaft bearing with the split 'captive' bearing. I have to say, this feels a lot better and more solid now, but took me about 5 hours!! Cheers Al
  13. Daily floggings and public executions. What an election manifesto, if only........ Maybe the political correctness brigade would rather us law abiding citizens keep off the road so as not infringe on an idiot's human right to potentially cause accidents and mayhem! Al
  14. Just been overtaken on my way back to work by the 'typical' white van man. He came steaming up my a*** in a 50 limit, (I was doing just under 50, honest sir!!), when I noticed some flailing going on in the cab through my interior mirror. A quick glance showed that the idiot driver was taking his jumper (or equivalent) off, while his mate presumably steered the van while it overtook me!! Unfortunately I didn't remember his number plate by the time I got to work. What the hell is happening to driving standards and common sense these days? What will the guy do next week, have a game of cards or watch telly while driving? Sorry if any of you drive white vans, but this was just sheer loonacy. Right, had my rant, back to work now. Al
  15. Thanks for posting the proposed changes, it's always good to have a heads-up. Cheers Al
  16. Hi Bob, Good idea, but it is mainly centered on brakes, fuel, bodywork, electrics, interior, steering, suspension, shiney bits. Yeah, think that covers it! After lunch we'll go to the seafront!! I'm pretty well sorted on the tool front, (so the misses says, ooerr), but duplications will always help speed things up, (ooerr). Am planning to spend some time in the garage this weekend as the chef is away, so will sort out clutter from garden etc and organise schedule. Will even have a go at the car to fully appraise the situation and prioritise work. Cheers Al
  17. Hi Robin, Congratulations on your wedding. PM on way. The 1st June looks like the day. Lets hope the weather comes out to play. Buttie chef / teasmade / biccy opener booked!!! I'll send out remiders / confirmation a couple of weeks in advance, just in case alcohol has the desired effect. Thanks for the offers all, much appreciated. If I can reciprocate in some way now or in the future, just ask. Cheers Al
  18. Thanks Dan, will have to have a looksee if I have something that may resemble something like this. Cheers Al
  19. Thanks Gavin, i'll get the other half to remind me to remind you as I am bound to have a few sherberts myself between now and then! Al
  20. Hi Tony, Don't want to sound daft, but what does the power steering pump adapter look like? Cheers Al
  21. Hi Jon, Picture hopefully attached. As you can see, it probably won't fit without some major adjustment!! Cheers Al
  22. Hi Jon, I have just had a look at my parts, (also for the Rover engine), and the supplied part number for the servo / inlet vacuum pipe is GSM 90186. Ths is in a Unipart poly bag. There are also some numbers at the bottom of the label, which are: 54 Fg1 882 483 002 07988. Thinking about it, don't know which is the part number now!! There is also a cadmium plated sdrew in adapter for the inlet manifold, for this pipe, but I don't know if this comes as standard with the part above as there was hole in my bag and the adapter was rolling around in my parts box. I'll take a piccy once I find the camera and you'll see that the supplied part above doesn't appear to be correct, there will be some 'technical adjustment' required, but the part does have the push fit plug for the servo and non-return valve fitted. Piccy to follow, hope this helps. Cheers Al
  23. Hi Bob, Robin, Gavin, Oops, forgot about Barkstone coming up. I'm currently free for both, but how about the 1st June? This will leave the Bank Holiday w/e free for family stuff etc. If this is ok with you all, i'll PM you my address details and directions if required. Once again, thanks for the offers. Cheers Al
  24. Hi Bob / Robin, Thanks for the offers. How does either 10/11 May or the last Bank holiday w/e 24-26 May, (although I know that bank hols are usually pre-booked with other committments) sound? These weekends are when I can gurantee the cook is available, (she'll kill me for saying that!!). Other than that w/e 31 May-01 Jun? Hopefully the weather will come out to play as well. Once again, thanks for the offers. Cheers Al
  25. Hi All, Was speaking to Gavinc and Kwikarf at Detling on Sunday, (hope you both got back home dry!) and I mentioned how long my Superspec was taking to build this is due to work committments / slight loss of enthsiasm due to work. Gavin suggested I post a plea for help to help kick-start my build, so here it is. The build isn't that far advanced and based on the threads on the potential changes to the SVA, it seems a good time to get things moving again, before the changes to the SVA come into force, once they decide what they may be. All offers will be greatly accepted, with the obligatory bacon butties, choccie biccies and other totally unhealthy refreshments to be suitably supplied by my better half. Additional arrangements, beers, steaks and overnight accomodation etc. can also be catered for, if required. Cheers Al PS, don't know if this is the correct forum to post this, apologies if this is the case.
