  1. to get the housing off the sump has to go.........................
  2. in theory no.... should be able to remove the fan pulley etc and 'hook' the old seal out - then 'gently' slide a new one in. usually works as long as the old one is cooperative seem to remember you have to put a bolt back in before using a puller to get the pulley off

I used stainless steel cable ties to secure mine - some here linky not convinced it does much other than create lots of steam when it gets wet!!!

  10. GBS sent me one of the new ones in error. I gave up on it due to alignment issues with the servo and ended up sending it back for the old style. ( still had issues with that one -had to 'adjust' stuff under the bonnet ). I did consider 1) going servo-less 2) remote servo
  11. rev counter not needed for sva to do the emissions test they can use one they just attach to your engine

    Water Pump Gasket

water pump on my 2.0 pinto started leaking over the winter. treated it to a nice shinny new one... first attempt ( no sealant just the gasket ) and it leaked at the top second attempt ( found some blue hermatite lying around in the garage, gave the gasket a light coating each side and fitted ) all OK until it got up to temp and now has a small leak again at the top. any suggestions for getting a good seal on attempt three

    Efi Fuel Pump

It lives again.... Removed the fuel pump - tried connecting to a battery, reversed connections etc and gave up after a while. Had a look at fuel pumps on the net but there are so many and so many fittings I gave up on that too. Back out to the garage - bloody hard bang with a hammer and a bit of verbal abuse and the original pump burst back into life It was crud in the pump - I had put the filter back the wrong way round - DOH
