    Rear Brake Drums

brake shoes cause a lip in the drum as they wear stopping the drum coming off. hit the drums on with a big hammer and perversely they come off!

    Efi Fuel Pump

OK all I did was re-route / renew the pipe from the fuel tank to fuel filter to fuel pump. I drive about 1 mile and engine dies. When I turn on the ignition the relays seen to pick OK but I'm sure the fuel pump used to run briefly - doesn't any more. Haven't had time to investigate yet but if anyone knows what replacement pump the EFi might need ( or pressure values etc. ) Hasn't been a good winter for the car - voltage guage has given up, got an oil leak ( front crank bearing seal ) and a water ( water pump ) leak, may as well do the timing belt while I am at it - Ho Hum................ So much for just tidying up the dash this winter
  7. replace it with one of these - or you'll be doing it again soon link to nw hoodies site part no of the bearing should be SLFL25

like the idea of a logo for the rollbar ( tried to sell the space to the company I work for without success - may be the way I 'excluded' the boss at the last karting session.. - don't think there will be any more )

    Denso Alternator

No - one side to alternator other side to switched 12V - so when you have the same voltage each side the light goes out....
  13. trying to forget ( not difficult for us scots! - unless we win - rare occurance )
  14. It is the harnesses that matter - not the seats !! Don't remember them even looking at the seats at SVA - the harnesses were well checked!
  15. inspection light needs a new bulb.... I'll look in daylight tomorrow - dark and horizontal rain / sleet right now.....
  16. found it crankcase breather goes into the inlet of no. 1 cylinder on mine
  17. oops - getting my term mixed up.... the breather from my oil filler cap goes to the tube between the air flow meter and the throttle body its the throttle body that is usually the problem and needs a good clean that is the only breather I can see on mine at a quick glance
  18. crankcase breather feeds back into the tube that runs from the air filter to the airflow meter. efi idling problems are usually a build up of crap in the airflow meter - give it a good clean to make sure it closes properly
  19. Regulations changing here SVA > IVA - same **** more money ! Still might be worth registering in UK and exporting to Germany as in EU - regulations do seem a little friendlier in UK. TUV is certainly a challenge ! Believe it or not UK readers it is much easier here!
  20. Wow Great to see so many in Deutchland I had thought about building one when I worked for VW in Kassel but came to the conclusion that TUV would be a bit too difficult with my poor German language skills...... mit freulichen Grüßen...............
