If you had a dodgy earth your gauge readings would be everywhere but where it should be , needle flickering etc as the gauge is reading the resistance of the sender unit in relation to earth .

If you do a search you will find lots of info on this but basicaly change your float and arm to the opposite side (180 deg) so then full will be empty and empty a full reading .

Some time ago i phoned the local council and reported a large deep pot hole on a bend in a country lane that is used by a lot by bikers and being a biker myself knew that it was just in the cornering line and was awaiting a victim . Pleased to say they repaired it within hours , i suppose that i must have spoken to the right bloke or maybe he was even a biker himself .

You can obtain Exhaust Heat Wrap in many colours now , i chose white and then sprayed it with white VHT exhaust paint to seal all those nasty fibres that fly all over if you dont .

As previously mentioned all depends on what the problem is as to repair it or replace like for like , as that way it should be a straight forward job .

Must admit i dont really know , but seeing as lights are required for failing light conditions and night driving i would say that at the very least a speedo would need to be lit for obvious reasons , not getting nicked maybe .

Hole cutters work really well.
They are an inner & outer cutter block, you drill a pilot hole, bolt them together & tighten up.
Perfect hole of the desired size. Not cheap though.
Car Builder Solutions sell a set or you can get them singly at a local tool shop.
These cutters where called Q Max as i have a few i bought in the 60's and still use them on thin sheet .

I remember moaning when we got 4 gals for a quid and enough change for a bag of chips . One customer used to come in every thursday and buy 1 gallon of the cheapest and insisted i wrang the pump nozzle out , scrooge or what .

Quite interested that you have a Robin Hood in Germany. I have a German friend who liked my car and was interested in getting one. I said I wasn't sure how it worked with having a kit car in Germany (I know your laws are even stricter than ours). How do you run a Robin Hood in Germany? Is it still UK registered? Did you buy it in the UK and import it?
There are quite a few Robin Hoods in Germany together with forums and clubs that include and support them , from what i have learnt recently there is a lot of activity , just read the forums if you can .
