    Exhaust

Hi guys I am after someone or company in the midlands that can make a link pipe for my exhaust. I need 2 ends flaring to different sizes and a bend puttin in the pipe too. Any recommendations welcome. I regularly travel between bromsgrove and erdington so something in those areas ideally. Cheers Steve
  3. Got my rocker cover, timing belt cover and springs back from the powder coaters today. http://s852.photobucket.com/albums/ab89/smineham/Steve_Zero/Powder%20Coating/ £40 for blasting and coating and have turned out really good. Trip to GBS this weekend for a few odd and sods, mainly a new nose cone, in Orange.
  4. Count me in. See you there Steve
  5. You only need 1 black as this is the power supply 12v switched live. Just tape the spare out the way and connect the sender wires to the bright 6 as per the instructions. Just did mine last weekend and worked fine. HTH Steve
  6. 4 1/2 years buildin my zero. I would estimate about 5 hours per weekend with about 6 months out due to finances and work pressure. I am about 95% done but recon have spent 240 hours. I would agree with Daz on the thinking part. I would say half of my build time was thinking!!! I think 120 hours is optimistic. When I was at the factory a few months ago Richard recons it takes 2 of them with the easy fit wiring loom 3 weeks to build. Don't let it put you off. With a bit of planning and this site you will have everything you need. Steve
  7. Got mine from maplins as my local halfords did not do them. Steve
  8. Thanks guys. Think I am goin to go for black counter sunk screws so they sit flush and leave the dash removable in the future. Cheers
  9. Hi all I am after views and thoughts on invisible fixings for an abs plastic dash. http://s852.photobucket.com/albums/ab89/smineham/?action=view&current=297b70ba.jpg&mediafilter=no flash I am thinking of aralditing (?) in some screws and wing nuts. Will this be strong enough? What has everyone else done? Cheers Steve
  10. Rally design have 50% off some samco hoses. Not sure if they are what you are after? Steve
  11. Need some help again. I have a premier wiring loom and the bright 6 lights. Using an 8 way connector block I connected the premier and bright 6 together. What I have is the following issue. The oil warning light and battery light stay on permanently. The bright 6 has the following wiring colours: yellow - right indicator Brown - brake test Blue - oil warning White - battery ignition Red - main beam Black - earth Orange - left indicator Green - live feed Premier loom colours Blue/White & brown - main beam Brown/green & black - oil warning Blue & black - charge light Brown/yellowx2 & black - low brake fluid/hand brake Black/green - indicator Black/White - indicator How would you wire this up? Thanks
  12. Hi all I am looking to get my speedo hooked up and notice it is a 18mm x 1.5 thread. Speedy cables want just over £40 for one but this seems a bit steep. I suspect this is my only option but if anyone has any other options I am all ears. Cheers Steve
  13. Hi all Happy new year to everyone. Just browsing eBay and came across these Odyssey batteries. eBay item:320636110134 Nothing to do with me but seem a good price. Cheers Steve

  17. Hi might be obvious but have you got the callipers on the right way up. Bleeding is near impossible unless the nipple is pointing up. HTH Steve

    Yes!

Well done Nick. Quick test only 2 hours. A perfect build. Steve
  19. Hi Dan Found these on Ebay lastnight. Looks like it will do the job. Is it strong enought to hold the throttle cable? Would it be strong enough to hold a clutch cable? Thanks Steve
  20. Hi Nick The pedal is the same thickness as an M10 bold. I was planning on getting a piece of ali tube that would fit over the top of the pedal and then find a way to fix it and clamp the cable. If i cut the top of the pedal down and drill a hole in the ali tube so the cable goes through the tube and the pedal slot as i screw in a bolt from the top it will clamp down on the cable and force the slot outwards onto the inside of the ali tube which will cause a tight interference fit??? What do you think??
  21. Thanks What stops it just popping out the top?
  22. Hi Jon Will this pass the IVA?
  23. Hi All Now after getting my engine started i am on a mission to get this car finished. I have a zero throttle pedal which after a bit of cutting and bending fits and clears through it's arc of travel, but how do i connect the throttle cable. http://i852.photobucket.com/albums/ab89/smineham/Steve_Zero/DSCF2103.jpg The top of the pedal just has a slot cut into it. GBS said just connect the cable end to a electrical connector block, but this just seems too mickey mouse to work as there is nothing to stop it coming out the top. If anyone has any ideas and pictures i look forward to hearing. Thanks Steve
  24. Hi All I am about the happiest person on the planet right now. :yahoo: Thanks to all those who have give advise and help. A special big thanks to Gaz who finally got it sorted. Now to get a strobe on it and get it outside and see just how load it gets. Steve http://s852.photobucket.com/albums/ab89/smineham/Steve_Zero/?action=view&current=FILE0013.mp4

    Help!

Ok. So i tried all the above an still no joy. I recorded my attempts and as you can see when i first try this is with the leads and dizzy what i think is the correct position as given by Nigel. Nothing. I then swap the 1 & 4 leads and the 2 & 3 leads and as you can hear a nice backfire. So, my thinking is still that the timing is out somehow as my understanding of a backfire is the engine trying to run backwards because the ignition point is wrong?? After the video stopped i moved the leads round 1 place until i ended back at the beginning and the closest it got as a reasonable size backfire. I am now at the limit of my understanding and skills. Got the club meet at the Malt Shovel tomorrow, but if anyone has and further ideas i am all ears, or if anyone likes tea, bacon/ sausage sandwiches and if free Saturday afternoon or anytime Sunday and wants to help out a fellow hoodie any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Steve Video of my attempt: http://s852.photobucket.com/albums/ab89/smineham/Steve_Zero/?action=view&current=FILE0011.mp4
