  1. Hi all. I have a premier wiring loom and am trying to sort as per the title. The premier loom has a Brown/Green wire for the Oil warning light and a Blue/Red wire for the Oil pressure Gauge. Now, in my ETB gauges kit it comes with an oil pressure switch which screws into the block just below the inlet manifold towards the rear. Am i right that this is where the Brown/Green wire connects to? and if so where goes the Blue/Red Oil pressure gauge wire connect to? Thanks Steve
  2. Hi Guys. Trying to finish off the wiring of my Pinto Zero. I have a dizzy which is as below but with 3 wires coming from it. A Gn/Y, Bk/R and Bn. The first 2 connect to the amplifier as per the diagram, but am i right in thinking the brown is an earth and just needs earthing with the rest of the earths? The second part is from the amplifier comes a Bk/Gn wire which becomes Bk/B. Is this best connected as per the diagram with one wire from the amplifier to the Ignition switch or can i connect it to the Bk/B wiring that goes to the starter motor? Hope this all makes sense. Thanks Steve
  3. Hi Shaft This looks awesome. How did you attach it to the scuttle? and did you keep the original dash behind it? Cheers Steve
  4. Hi Guys, building a zero with a 2.o pinto. I am using the rad supplies by GBS, i thinks its a coolman rad, but the question is do i need an expansion tank or can i just blank off the small pipe on the thermostat and water pump, then connect the top hose to the Thermostat and the bottom hose to the Water Pump? Thanks Steve
  5. Hi mate I can get you a copy of the email I got. Send me your email address and I will forward it to you cheers Steve

Hi guys I am after a dizzy for a pinto 2.0. The Bosch part number is 0237-002-xxx. Thanks Steve
  7. Hi guys Hope those who made it to stoneleigh had a good time. Next job on my never ending list is the radiator and I have 2 questions. 1- does the rad mount direct to the chassis or on rubber mounts of some sort. Bob kindy sorted me the dimentions for the brackets which I am going to replicate. 2- how does the fan attach to the rad? Thanks Steve

    Helmets

Hi would recommend spending the money on a good one. I have a serious bike crash at about 80mph and my head was the first thing to hit the car. My helmet was a track approved and the doctors said that anything less would have been me dead. Go for the gold sticker on the back, might seem like a big cost now but think of the cost if you damage your brain!! You can replace a helmet regardless of cost!!
  9. did a swap with jonny (local builder who bought a part built and is going zetec). I had the same issue finding one. I know a few guys on here are getting them made. Cheers steve

  11. Hi Thanks for the assist. Looks like the easiest option is going to be bestek as all parts included and easy to install. Thanks again Steve
  12. Hi Craig. I will take a closer look tonight. The dizzy plug block has a number of pins inside, is this what you mean by either 3 or 7. Can you discribe in an idiots guide how the parts connect,eg. dizzy has 3 wires to eec iv etc. Which eec iv did you use? the big one or the little one. According to the haynes manual i should be using the small one. Most things make sense to me but this ignition stuff is hard work! Thanks for the help. Steve

    Pinto Ignition

Hi All I am after some help. I have looked at previous threads and can see that the general opinion is that a Ford EEC iv can be used from running the ignition on bike carbs. My questions are: 1 - I have a dizzy that has a plug on the side. I assume this is a Hall effect dizzy!? 2 - I will need some sort of wiring harness to connect the dizzy to the eec iv. What sort or loom and best place to get it please. 3 - The engine is have is a Nov 1987 205 block pinto (inj) the eec iv seems to come in 2 sizes. small and big. from the reaseach i have done it looks like a small one is what i need. Any help, guidance, diagrams or photo's would be great. Thanks Steve

  16. Hi All After some help. I need a sump and oil pick up pipe for a 2.0 pinto (20-5 block) to get my engine rebuild finished. If you have one that is already modified even better. I have cold hard cash waiting! Thanks Steve
  17. If it helps you can borrow my engine hoist. I am in bromsgrove.
  18. Hi this is my first kit but you will find all the answers from the members on this site. I would go as far as saying there is nothing that can't be answered. I live in bromsgrove and mine is a rolling chassis. If you want to have a look or sit feel free to contact me and pop over. I am 6ft and fit in no probs. Steve
  19. Hi have you tried screwfix.com. They do a2 & a4 ss threaded rods in all sizes and are mail order. Not sure if they mail to USA. Hope this helps Steve
  20. Hi guys what alternator has everyone use for a pinto zero. The standard one is way too big. Jess has suggested a mini tractor one but is there a more common one. Thanks Steve
  21. Hi Jonny. The dash looks good. Was it easy enough to mount the dash? I am planning a koso dash. Post some more pics when you get the carbon dash on.
  22. Hi all. Had a day from he'll trying to get the pinto into my zero. Managed to keep most of my skin but once in I have found that nothing sits right. The starter motor housing in the bell house hits the chassis rail upright and the gear box will not sit back far enough as the mounting on the gearbox which fits onto the chassis mount is too short and leave about 35mm of the inner prop exposed. My questions are: 1. Can I just cut a bit of the bellhousing off to make it fit 2. I have only ever welded mild steel. Can I weld a plate over the bit I cut off as I guess the bellhousing will be case iron. 3. How do I get the gear box to sit far enough back as the square mount on the gear box fits neatly in the square mount on the chassis. It this also in need of surgery? 4. Will the standard alternator fit in it's original position or does this need modifying? Thanks for the advise guys Steve

Hi All. Looks like i might get the engine in my Zero this weekend, yiippeee!! I just need to get the engine and gearbox together. What size nuts and/ or bolts are needed to mate a pinto to a type 9? Do they need to be high tensile? Thanks for your help. Steve
