Bugger...caught in the middle of the 3rd spin....pushing too much! Sliding Pillars holding up well... 59.908 Sec's, well chuffed... Now looking forward to a sub 59 sec next year?????

  7. Don't worry Tim, haven't got mine through yet either.... Also lookin forward to see some front end shots. Will be interesting to see the sliding pillocks in action. They performed far better than I was expecting, so guess I haven't got them too far out.

    Southern Hoods

Hi, Just thought I'd say hello and thanks to you all who attended last night. Possibly the only meet down South I'll make as it's a tad far to travel in the hood..... Really envious that I did not have my 2b to bring along, but being chauffered in the old mans V8 westie almost made up for it... Really good to meet with you all, and hopefully get to see a few of you at the shows (Stafford). Florin metal works....Car is lookin great. Next time I'm down will definately try to pop over to have a closer look.
  12. :blush:Yep, You will have problems with the RH Can!!! Mine was giving out 115db's at 4000 rev's which although sounded fantastic, was sending me deaf, and upsetting the neighbours (setting off car alarms at 6.00am I have tested a few other hoods with my noise meter and every one has been between 101 and 112db's Only just squeezed through SVA by using the restrictor (tripod widget)101 limit, I passed with 100.6..... Had a new exhaust fitted my MK engineering and now at 89db's. Massive difference but still a great growl. The only thing you could probably try in such a short space of time is to do the letter box slot in the bottom/ back of the RH can and re-pack it, you may just squeeze through????
  13. Cheers for the comments lad's...made me smile! Yes a bit surprised myself. Had a couple of scarey moments i.e. 3x 360 degree spins 1 on track,2 in the field. That made me a good stone lighter (brown adrenalin rush) so guess that helped the times. Morning session I think I was one of the quickest hoods? Really chuffed. Guess slidding pillocks ain,t all that bad. Definately surprised a few.... Can't wait til next year, reckon there is a 58 sec lap there somewhere....
  14. Hi Andy, I have a wiring diagram somewhere in the garage. Can't remember what I did now on my wiring (old age!)so jotted it all down. I'll have a rumage round when I get home and let you know. Could always pop around to give some moral support if you are stuck....
  15. I'm sure that was who was driving Nigels car yesterday...
  16. Here here John... Thanks to you and all the organisers and a big thanks for the Marshalls who were melting in the sunshine. Think I gave a couple of them a scare once or twice though.... Brilliant day, can't wait til next year
  17. Count me in. Providing no work issues. Spent all afternoon repairing( making a new one) exhaust bracket. Thought it was rattling a bit yesterday. Spotted the exhaust bracket had cracked this afternoon just as I was about to have a run out... Glad you got the electrics sorted Andy. Hope to see you all there!
  18. You probably shook something loose with the off road excursions you were doing You couldn't even keep it on the tarmac on the way home...! Hope you can make Wednesday (weather permitting).. :
  19. It was a nice mini until the last run......ouch! Cart wheeled into the barriers, some major front end damage. Pretty sure there will be a few photo's soon. Fantastic day. Great weather, surprising good lap times (my slidding pillocks surprised quite a few wishy boners!), apart from the piroettes I ended up doing on one of the warm up laps... Topped off by a corking drive home When we doin it again lads.......? Great day!!!!!!!!
  20. Hi Dan, Andy, Rob, Duncan and myself are meeting up on M1/A57 junct at 7:30 and driving across to A1. All being well should be able to meet up along the way. I guess around 8:15-8:30 ish. Lookin forward to a crackin day.....
  21. Cars ready, numbers already on. Now I'm brickin it....can't wait Weather lookin good, just counting down the hours. It will be interesting to see how the old sliding pillocks fare against the wishy boners..... See you all there
  22. Hi Stuart, Check outNW Rhocar. Should find everything you need. I used as set of Capri clocks which I cut up and mounted in the dash, see picies below. Bit cheaper than buying a new set of individual clocks and doesn't look too bad IMHO.
  23. I thought that was your natural state anyway....lol See you on Sat Morning, I'll PM you my mobile just in case you have too good a night
  24. You're tempting fate Mark! If you see any shiny objects in the road it's mine...lol Thanks for the offer. See there later. Are you camping over again?
