  1. Sorry mate but he's wrong... I know from painful experience. My pinto fitted to the 2b was supposed to have been modified with hardened valve seats. However noticed valve clearances on cam kept changing ( after I blew oil everywhere and lost compression) On investigation not only did I have a cracked piston but all exhaust valves had not been modified and were so badly receded that another 1 or 2 mil and valves would have busted through..... Ended up doing a full rebuild.

  2. What a pillock !!!!

Car all polished all fluids checked, set off got on main road 2-3 miles heard a clang, thought I'd driven over a coke can. Turned out I had forgot to put back the rad cap..... Steam and water everywhere. Fortunately spotted early. Went back and found cap slightly mangled. So now need new cap and lots of polishing grrrrrrr another meet not made.

    Hopefully the next one???

  3. Hi,

Just to let you know that we haven't ever come across any real issues regarding theft on kit cars.

As per some of the comments, yes we would ask for security on certain higher value models or cars that are not garaged in higher risk areas etc.

In most cases they are kept garaged.

    Regards,

    Dan.

Does that mean my insurance premium will go down next year :acute:

  4. Hi Alan

Its an age thing I can't remember what happened 5 mins ago let alone what you posted some weeks back ha ha. Knowing me I'll remember next Monday that I just missed the show

Hoping weather is good so I can give the Cobra a bit of a run out, although (As Marcus and Ivan can testify) my Cobra isn't adverse to the damp, already had her baptised.

Having the carbs re-built/ set up on Saturday. Frightened a few bystanders on Saturday night with 2ft flames shooting out of both exhausts on overrun....no wonder I'm only getting 11 miles to the gallon 8) :db:

Hopefully from this lot you can see what you need to do.

The rubber bump stops were anti-vibration mounts available from ebay something like this (may need drilling out for a clearance fit) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ANTI-VIBRATION-MOUNTS-RUBBER-BOBBIN-MOUNTING-FEMALE-FEMALE-CYLINDRICAL-MOUNTS-/262406463337?var=&hash=item3d18a4df69:i:262406463337

hope this helps a little :db: 8)

    Good luck

  6. Hi Drew

If you search on here I put quite a few tips and sketches on how to build and set up the sliding pillars. Managed to get mine set up really well.

Regards the wheel spacers yes I fitted 10mm spacers with ET35 15" wheels, also had to fit longer wheel studs. As Bob states, an easy job.

If you get stuck pm me and I'll dig out the sketches

  7. Looks like we started a trend Rich... Another cracking job. Mine was still going strong after almost 2 years.

One thought though. How's Dan gonna handle an increase in power? He couldn't handle what he had lol....

    Cracking job as always...
