    Capri Instruments

hi Phil My car went threw SVA with the Capri clocks. First time they failed but on closer inspection the needle was well below the zero mark. I reajusted the pointer to zero and passed the second time no probs. I have been followed at speed and was told i was driving at the speed my clock read (to fast ) HTH Mitch
  5. I have to agree with Guy. My wife has read the mag and did'nt have any problems with the young lady on the front. But some might and your welcome to youre own opinoin. As for the other comments, i have been a member of the club for 2 1/2 years and have always found people easy to approach. I have always offerd my help where possible and have found others to be just as helpful when i needed it. That is what RHOCAR is about its a group (male and Female) who have the same interests, wheter its building, modifiing or driving the cars. My friend (Andy from Blackburn)was so impressed with the friendliness of the club and the cars themselves he spent last year with me, my wife his wife and child "doing the shows" and ended up putting the Cobra on hold and buying a Hood. Niether him his wife or my wife felt that they did'nt belong, And will be at Newark this weekend. On various outings there have been the wife's and girlfriends of various members from the NW who are only to happy join in on the runs have a drink, tell jokes wether P C or not and genrally join in with the merriement, At shows or runs out there are always new faces who are encouraged to join in with the organising and participation of events weather its a run threw the moors or organising a weekend away or just a trip to a builders house to spare them on and encourage them when it gets tough. So contact your local sec and join in the banter get out and enjoy the cars and the company. Mitch Blackburn

    Woohoo...

Hi CJ Even if you do use the V G loom, KEEP all the old Sierra loom and every plug thats fitted to the car (both male and female ends) you will be (or not) very surprised how much of the looms plugs are needed to supliment the VG loom. Good luck with the build. Mitch

    Do I Need These ?

Thats exactly how mine's attached (including surround)except mine is lower so as not to cause to much trouble getting the spare off. Mitch
  10. chris Thats the sound of the clutch cable about to break, Its likely that is hanging on by a few last threads Mitch

    Do I Need These ?

yes just a big "P" clip with the light attached and space for number below, My plates mounted central to the rear tube, both vertically and horizonterly(spelling) of course with the edges covered for test. Mitch

    Do I Need These ?

John boot cover, no but make sure the edges of rear panel are,nt sharp maybe a full hard board (coverded in carpet) panel over area?(doesnt have to open) maybe better. Spare wheel no dont bother it only makes more contactable edges number plate lamp must be fitted and secure (one of my fail points) as for the others if you can come into contact with a sharpe edge cover IT you will only kick yourself after if you fail on minor sharp edges, maybe better to cover as much as poss. HTH Mitch
  13. the white sender is from various years but was used on all Capris. (around £9 from ford)Mine didnt read at all. Earth the wire with ign on and watch the gauge, it should go to the top. if so change the sender. As for petrol you will know when its empty.. It stops. at the sva again earth the wire on the tank sender so it reads full just dont tell him you.ve done it. HTH Mitch Jim Beat me to it

    38 Dgas

saw this 38 d-gas on e-bay thought someone may be interested http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...&category=21654 Nothing todo with me thought someone maybe interested Mitch
  15. Hi Flea Check the link for wire colours on NW web site. As for the Temp, Have you fitted a white sender in the block or are you still using the sierra one.Sender must match gauge. Petrol gauge is more difficult. I have Capri clocks and my fuel gauge reads incorrect, 3/4 when full, and empty at 1/4 full. try earthing the wire to make sure the gauges work first. HTH Mitch

    Nearly There!

I think i'm correct in saying the oil pump will need priming. Do this by filling the oil filter with oil before fitting. If this is'nt right will somebody correct me. Mitch

Im sure if you contact him he would be interested to see you're car and offer his wealth of information if needed. Mitch

    Wheel Missing

Hi Matt No spare wheel is'nt a requirement for the test.I did'nt have one on, can cause more problems for sharp edges as they must be covered. But it is for the NW hoodies following you, Boy can that lot whine, just because it reflects a little light whist driving Mitch

Hi Simon Try Merlin motorsport on 01249 782101 http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/ Mitch
  23. It was one of my fail points(Chadderton,March this year). They must be high tensile. Only problem is the thread has to be 7/16ths unf as the shank of the bolt is 11mm. RS was'nt helpful when i asked for replacement's and insisted i appealed against the fail, But i just changed them as it was an easier option. HTH Mitch
