Agree it is bad practice to run any lights direct to a switch. Relays should be used in all circuits that are drawing more than a couple of amps IMHO regardless of what switch you are using.
If you want your lights to be BRILLIANT rather than glow a relay is a must to reduce the volt-drop caused by long cable runs in thin wire & high resistance switch contacts, make the wiring distance between battery & lamps as short as possible using 4mm wire.

How about the engine steady bush (for Mini) --2 rubber bushes & 2 metal cones to make a very tight fit in the eye? What size is the zeemer eye you're trying to fill--there's a lathe in my shop if you need to modify, regards Bob Fry.

This is probably not much help--I'm converting a 1.8CVH to EFI--using 1600 Escort complete inlet & electrics--so far have only made-up an adaptor plate in 6mm ally--blue-printed it to head & cut & filed then blue-printed other side of plate to manifold--cut,filed etc. & new gaskets cut--have a mate coming over Weds. to start the tech stuff, will post more if you're interested. PS Not going for more power only looking for reliability!!

M12 x 1.5 studding may be very difficult to find--may I suggest boring out an old wheel nut & get it welded to standard 12mm stud--then use M12 nyloc nut on inside of boot--makes it harder to steal your wheel--provided your boot locks O.K

Thanks Nigel, again I'm going the Ford route--solid copper to rear of body-shell--flexy to swinging arm then solid to backplate

And coming from the other direction------I've fitted the torque tube & the diff rubber mount exactly as Mr. Ford designed it--it worked for all Sierra's inc. high horse-power models so why not in a lighter weight seven style 2 seater? crash helmet on & waiting for incoming-*-*-*

Grizzly, is the failed ball-joint as supplied with the bottom wish-bone or a replacement after a previous failure? looks like your present failure was running dry & wore it's way thru the cup, use to be a Mini problem back in my youth (40+ years ago)

I have the longerones on the front 300lb and shorter shockers on the back with 350lb. With them the other way round The springs were wound almost to the top to get the ride height I wanted.
Tim, do you recon I've got my front & rear springs arse about face? What clearance have you got to underside of side panel-- at front--at rear of panel;cheers for your info. Reagrds Bob.

Hi, on my 2B+ I have 8" 300lb springs on the front & 10" 300lb springs on the back --all with Gaz shocks--hope that helps or I'm wrong way round.

Once again Ferrari show that they will do any-thing to win--on the track--in the pits--in the courts. The Shoemaker said years ago a win is a win--how is soon forgotten by most.

Hi all, would like to fit inertia reel belts to our 2B so my little wife & I can swap drivers with-out hassle. What height must the top swivel mount be? (reel bolted to floor chassis tube) Can I put a half-round bar up inside the vertical of the roll-over tube & threaded for the mounting bolt. What is the 3rd dimension for the reference block in the seat--136 x 53 x ? is 450mm the minimum mount height above this block or can the swivel mount be higher? Thanks in advance for valued replies. Regards Bob.

Hi Bob based in Tyne and Wear, the sheets are abot 3mm thick they are not high polished but do have a shine to them.
Hi Keith, thanks for the info; too heavy for my use but thanks for posting.

WE will be there with Wendy & Vic early on Sunday, what can we bring along to help dress-up our RHOCAR pitch? --Tables & chairs; parachute tent,--are we allowed to fix (tent pegs) anything to the ground? If we camp are we allowed to use a barbie for break-fast, cheers Malcolm see you Sunday week in glorious sun-shine (we've used up all the wet weather on our home BBQ's) Regards Bob & Sylvia.

Asteroid "Apophis" (Evil Egyptian God) first prediction Earth strike would be April 13 2029 (sorry I said 2025 from memory in ealier post) but after re-calculation this date changed to a near miss event (just brushing the outer atmosphere) It crosses earth path again on Easter Sunday 2036 when a strike is a slender possibility---- so enjoy while you can.

Are not the rear arms rubber mounted & therefor bolted up tight-- vertical movement causes rubber to twist in itself so can't seize only fail altogether? If front wish-bones are seized sugest adding a grease nipple to the inner side of the bush tube -- pump full of grease which will force the plastic bushes out (if wish-bone is off car) or free-off bearing. The inner tubes which lock the bone to the chassis are mild steel & likely to rust if installed "dry". Please shoot me down rapidly if you dis-agree!!

Realy old one's amoungst us will remember BELCO brushing cellulose (?) --paint it on --several thick coats-- then wet & dry--then cutting compound-- then T cut-- then polish-- to find you've rubbed though the finish.

Chris, where are you measuring springs & dampers from?, is it to centres of damper mounting holes or length of spring only-- does it make a difference what make- mine are Gas shocks & 300lb springs all round, thanks in advance.

It's easy to convert the motor to 1phase running provided all 6 ends from the windings are accessible-- the motor needs to be connected in DELTA-- A1 toC2-- A2 to B1-- B2 to C1 connect supply (230 volt ) across A1 - A2 & a new capacitor (25-30 microFarad) connected across B1 - B2 , cost about £15. The main down-side is you can't use your existing switch-gear & the power will be down somewhat.
