Hi Yanto, ( and also anyone who can make use of it ) Please find attached a dimensional drg of the rear hub carrier sandwich plate or spacer that i made for my Zero. Hope it will be of use to peeps and save you having to use those waste of time flame cut (badly!!) steel, err....... things! LOL. No mate, i made it parallel. With my suspension at full droop i'm already measuring in at 2.5 deg negative camber. I guesstimate it to be around 1.5 deg when loaded. I've got a digital inclinometer i use to measure up. Nick.

Hi J, I made a one piece spacer, 13mm thick, and the bolts i used where M10 x 35 long. Used Nylok nuts also. HTH, Nick.

Hi J, You want a M10 x 1.0 threaded pressure switch. 1.5 pitch was a typo on my part in the previous post. Sorry, i get used to stating threads at work when doing drawings and 1.5 pitch is the standard for M10. 1mm pitch is Metric fine. Regarding build, thanks for the positive comments, they make me smile to myself. I've built 5 or 6 competition Landrovers in the past, so i'm not new to building motors to be honest. Luckily, i have a triple garage, which helps a lot when building and refurbing parts. Heated also, so i don't mind being down there in an evening. Nick.

No, No, No..... It's a doddle to do, it just requires patience and attention to detail. Pick a job to do and do it, don't sidetrack on to something shiny or rush so you can see a big difference for your toils of the day. Remember, your welcome to pop over and see mine in the flesh, kettle's always on. Bring a notebook and your camera if you wish. Diff spacing can be done with washers if you want......... GBS do it that way. Panels don't need trimming much if you just want a fit, but they do if you want a good clean fit (me being finicky!) You'll breeze it mate. Nick.

Hi all, I've got an Escort rack with my kit, fair enough, but does anybody know what the threaded ends are from?? Do GBS cut the escort ends of and weld in the extension piece, or perhaps they cut the escort rack and weld on Sierra ends?? I've measured the thread and i reckon it's M14 x 2.0, but struggling to find any info on what thread's the Escort or Sierra ends are?? Thanks in advance, Nick.

Hi Gray, It's more enjoyable than i imagined!! Seriously though, i'm finding it a simple process so far (ask me again when i get to the electrics my weak area!) The basic design and principles behind the kit are spot on in my opinion but i've found that the finess applied to the fit of parts and accuracy used during GBS's manufacturing process are a bit, err.......... slap dash to be polite. I've spent a lot of time dry fitting and trimming panels to fit nice, re-made a couple from scratch and re-designed the fit of others. I don't think i had too, just wanted too. I'm very finicky!! Suspension allignment was abismal, as was the diff, so again, a lot of time spent trueing and spacing it all. That said though, i love it and look forward to working on it. Just finished fitting front suspension & brakes tonight, next job................ pass. lol. How are you finding it?? Regards, Nick.

Hi Pete, According to Haynes manual for the Pinto, it states:- Minimum oil pressure at 750rpm..... 14.5 lbf/in2 2000rpm.... 36.25 lbf/in2 Both reading's with engine warm. Haynes take their info from the manufacturers, so i assume thats for a new engine also?? HTH, Nick.

Hi all, Many thanks for all the kind comments regarding my build pics from so many of you. It means a great deal, more so, coming from more experienced builders than myself. Anyway, after a few PM's asking if i'm doing a blog off my build (No, i haven't the time or know-how) and a surprising amount of interest in my previous pics, i've uploaded another album of my latest achievements in the build of my Zero. I have added comments to each picture to explain what or why i'm doing something in the way pictured as i thought this may be of help. Hopefully someone will find these of assistance, and if so, it makes it a worthwhile little project for me to keep adding pics/comments as i go. Hi Marcus, I did mine as per some pics from GBS, BUT, i'm 99% certain they are wrong. So much so, i've swapped mine to what i believe to be correct, that being wheel cylinders facing forward. I studied the haynes manual (Sierra) and they have the cylinder at 11 o'clock and the handbrake cable coming in from the front side. So if you rotate them by 90 degrees, bearing in mind they have to line up with the carrier GBS supply, the cylinders end up facing forward. The only critical point is that the leading / trailing shoes are correct as per Fords design against wheel rotation. Like i said, i've set mine like this as i believe i'm correct and GBS pics are wrong. Yes, you could rotate the hubs from standard position as per Sierra 90 deg anti-clockwise which would put the cylinders at the rear, but the carriers won't allow this. (on mine anyway??? perhaps the carriers are drilled off randomly when made???) Regards, Nick.
