What was the damage ??

It's not to bad going from small diameter to larger diameter.

Have you investigated the reason for low reving. It could be something very simple like furred up main jets. Or week mixture. The jets fur up a little every time they dry out. Just try running aw elders nozzle cleaner through them. They are not expensive and work wanders.

It is not the wrong carb because that is the standard for your engine. Hence it should run to max revs.

Has someone fitted smaller jets than standard.

Are there any leaks from the manifold drawing air after the carb. ie, it is common that the base of carb warps through people over tightening.

The gasket between head and manifold can leak.

If you have servo, it or the vac tube can leak. The one way valve can leak.

If you fit bike carbs you will need to drill out the jets to the correct size. On 2 ltr it is 1.3 mm. Sorry I don't know the correct size for the 1600.

Whatever you decide, I would persist in getting it to run properly first. This could save you scratching your head after the conversion if it doesn't cure the fault. You could then be taking off the bike carbs in case it is them.

Finally you will have to make a plenum and join all vac pipes to it to run your servo otherwise you could possibly set the mixture wrong on one cylinder, causing valve or piston burn out.

Also you will need to improve you exhaust from standard manifold to 4-1 to get optimum benefit from bike carbs.

Thanks Les dont know were you found that I thought I had searched everywhere sadly though that is the way I had wired it but still no park.

there is a circuit between the live on the switch and the park terminal when the switch is in the off position,the cam switch has been replaced,the plastic wedge on the back of the drive wheel is in place,still no park is it posible that park would only work when under load???

the connection to the motor is through the cam switch if there was not a live feed surely the motor would not run at all, and i cannot find a rotary lucas wiper switch

New parking cam switch thingy just arrived put it connected it up and its still the same switch it off and it stops dead

Thanks Nigel for that tried mocking it up as you suggest but the park does not appear to work it just stops immediately when switched off

Can somebody help with a wiper wiring diagram please,have a mini wiper motor with park and a rotary durite switch with terminal marked B,P,H and L which wire goes were and does it require a relay.I have a diagram that shows what the wires are from the motor but not to a relay or the switch.

Anybody know what size is the rack tubing/,copper or steel,/fit or not fit.advice appreciated

I have a 2ltr pinto head and standard cam but not sure if its unleaded or not.PMme if interested

yes I did the same, just got refund cheque today.

I was driving the car on 31st oct and it was sorned at 7pm on 31st,

but dvla online automatically sorned from 1st oct.

wonder what would happen if I was photo`ed speeding and they checked records and shows up as sorned

would I be done for driving without tax???

I did exactly the same with the same result on being sorn from the 1st of october the refund cheque came friday but was only for £95.83 this the refund on one months used out of six months tax

Are the drilled and grooved discs worth the extra cost or not????

Need a new set of front discs,using standard sierra discs at present have been told it would be beneficial to upgrade to larger diameter.What do I need in discs and I presume new callipers,what is the cheapest options and how difficult are they to fit. (ZERO 2Ltr Pinto )

Also dont use stick deodorants they dont work and make your eyes water.I followed the instructions remove cap and push up bottom??
