  1. Hi, I have tried to get the tracking checked before I find I'm running out of tread ! I have seen these drive over tracking gauges by Trakrite and wondered if they would be ok. I first tried to get a (free) tracking check at my local motorsave and was very suprised to hear they wanted to DRIVE my car to see how the tracking was now - Er HELLO - not on their life ! then they wouldn't let me drive onto their ramps - so they needless did NOT get my business, nor any future business thank you I then asked Charlie Brown's in Donny who were more helpful in actually LOOKING at the car. The problem he saw is that the laser tools they have need to hang on the tyre. Except, they won't fit between tyre and cycle wing so that won't work. So, last resort is this trakrite possiblity. Or does anyone know of another method? I can cope with string, planks and sealing wax ideas I would like to know if the tracking from these drive over trakrite tools is going to be good enough before parting with money for one. Thanks, Simon.
  2. That clevis clamp is what came with the throttle cable from GBS. I noticed it was too narrow for the pedal so I just used some old Meccano know how to make the pivot bolt through the pedal. The cable just goes around the back of the bolt (drilling it would weaken it too much) and then fed back through the choc block. This part of the cable is NOT tight but enough so that the cable won't slip out from behind the bolt. The nipple takes the strain and if it slips, the loop should catch the slack. Well, that's the theory anyway (It would have been nicer if I had a clevis that would fit the pedal though ) Simon.
  3. Is it a three pin hole? I have an idea which might or might not work. Sending a PM to you. Simon.

    Applying For Iva

I recall sending off the forms and they got back to me much sooner than I expected. I had though I would not hear before the holidays so when I said a date much later, they said that was fine and would just put it on hold until I was ready. (This was Nottingham) Very helpful as well. Simon.
  5. Where did it snap? Pedal end or TPS end? I have some pictures of how I fitted mine. I have looped the cable back on itself so that if it ever fails, I could make a temporary repair to get back home with. The loop also acts as a backup in case the nipple slips on the cable. (This is the pedal side) Simon.
  6. I think they are all made that way. If you have a broken lock barrel, then I would assume the whole cap is replaced. I couldn't see any way of stripping this down either - sorry Simon.

    Engine Help

does it run on partial throttle? If it dies on idle, maybe the idle jet is blocked? (Not running carbs - just an idea) Simon.

    Image Uploading

I just use paintshop pro and resample the size down that the camera takes and can usually get the picture down from 2 Megs to about 100k with no noticable loss in quality. Choose jpg as the compression is much better than bmp format. Simon.
  9. I have pictures of me building up the raceline sump which you can find on my web site address in my signature. If that's any help. And, Yes, you *DO* need a very long allen key for that hidden bolt Simon.

    Diff

I fitted the type with push in driveshafts and I also have rear disc brakes for my zero build. It is a 3.92 though and I think it might need changing in the future for the 3.62. (Wish I'd known earlier - but heck it accelerates well ) Simon.
  12. I think it would be possible as the engine is supported on the sides. Just very awkward. But as you said, I changed mine outside of the car as the engine would not stand up straight on the original sump Simon.
  13. I wondered about the same when I fitted mine. Instead I lined the keyslot up and the bolts aren't as I thought people would notice the key slot and miss the bolts Simon.
  14. I fitted a stainless cat for £40 + welding. I'll look up the link Found here http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3365b70b7a Simon.
  15. The throttle cable is not the problem area. What I mean is the small section of internal cable that you can see between the pedal clevis and where it enters the outer cable. What can happen is that if your foot slips off the throttle, the spring pulls the pedal up so quickly that it carries on moving trying to compress the cable and the pedal gets jammed up past the normal closed position. I put a small piece of aluminium angle inside the pedal box to act as a stop to prevent this happening. I'll see if I have a picture of this. Simon.
  16. Oops, should have read your car type first Simon.
  17. Thursday ? Sorry, busy that night. Friday would be ok though. Simon.
