  1. Hi Simon it was me, and I passed that way again at 12:00ish after sorting the mirrors. Jez
  2. Yeeeeehaaaa. I've got my MAC at first attempt today. Only prob I had was mirror field of vision, I had to lift the wing mirrors up an inch so the lowest point on the test post could be seen. Better still the nice man said it was one of the best he'd seen, he said most kits he sees go away with a list of problems to rectify. I have to say I couldn't fault the SVA experience at Brum the tester was very reasonable. A very happy Jez

    Relay Layout

The relay should have number next to the blades. 30 = switch common 87 = normally open switch 87a = normally closed switch 85 = coil 86 = coil. Remember if you replace a relay with a new one the old ford relays are not conventionally laid out, terminals 30 and 86 are swapped. Jez
  4. Err looks like you have them on the wrong wheels, longer bit to the back. Looks same as mine for clearance though. Jez
  5. I struggled for ages to find a pre pump filter with 15mm in/out same as feed to pump, I didnt wan to step down the pipe and needed something robust as its under the car. The only option I found was a bullet motorsport one for about 60 quid. I have a swirl pot on the botton of fuel tank and pump is behind diff, with a smaller vauxhall injection filter up front. Jez
  6. Hi, I've just got my SVA date, has anyone who's passed got a Mountney steering wheel SVA pad I could borrow/buy. Also I remeber there was talk before about some pads that were being loaned within the club, ie use for SVA and then pass on to next member who needs it. Cheers Jez
  7. Its a 28mm internal circlip, lost mine as well. Any engineering supplies should have them for a few pence. PS good luck getting it in. Jez
  8. Thanks for the replies guys, now then out with the file or out with the cheque book? Jez
  9. Hi, I found that when I've fitted the Mountney steering wheel the end of the column touches the rear of the centre push horn. Has anyone else found this and how have you overcome this, would it be just a case of chopping a few mil off the column. For refernce the column protudes 6mm after the nut. Cheers Jez
  10. Hi Dave, if the rest of injection bits are still on offer I could get them picked up next week sometime, my brother is starting work on a building site in Northampton next week . Thanks Jez
  11. Hi Dave, its a large grey part with a black box on the side that is attached to the air cleaner box, I guess if you only had the engine you wouldn't have it. Jez
  12. Hi Dave, Thanks for the offer, do you have the MAF. Chris, I'll give it clean but donor had a new valve fitted. Jez

    Exhaust Wrap

Hi, I bought some exhaust wrap from Car Builder Solutions, I've ran the car up a few times and it smokes continuously. I've used some before from another supplier and it smoked first run up and stopped. I'm trying to find out if anyone else has had this issue, will the smoke stop if I run it some more. Cheers Jez
  14. Hi, I'm looking for some pinto injection bits as its started to surge at idle, if anyone is binning the injection I'm after the throttle position sensor and the MAF. Thanks Jez
  15. Hi Dan, I could come and have look as well if you like, wouldn't mind a nose anyway. Jez
  16. Hi Dan, the left 2 are the extensions for the indicators and the right part is for the steering rack. I have no clue for the other bit I didn't get one, looks like its a pair and needs to be split. Jez

    Rh Propshafts

I had a similar issue with a broken grease nipple luckily I found it before I fitted the prop. The problem was the nipples where too long and got broke in the yoke, got some std items from local prop remanufacturer and no problems. Jez
  18. Hey Macca, if your still struggling I can help I've done this conversion before and we're nearly neighbours I'm in Ernesford Grange. Jez
  19. I have tried the search but it seems to be a random subject generator if you know what I mean.
  20. Depends on wire size, use about 10amp per square millimetre max, ie 2mm wire = fuse 20amp. This will ensure the wire is protected from cooking if a short occurs, fuses are generally rated to protect the wire from burning not the components in most cars. Jez
  21. Hi, has anyone found an off the shelf aerosol paint that matches the blue gel coat?? Jez
  22. Might as well buy a new one the "springy" brushes wear, mine didn't reach the tracks when I fitted the Mountney. Got it from Ford less than a tenner I think, when you look for it at Ford its on the steering column microfish not the electrical switches one, took ages to find. Jez

    Handbrake

Thanks for the offer Roy but I wanted to try an unmodified one. I chopped mine because of SVA fails not being able to reach it, now the seats I have foul the handbrake when applied. Jez
  24. Hey all, has anyone successfully fitted the RHE boot cover, I'm trying but I just can't seem to get the boot corners to fit close the chassis at the front and I can't see how the side pieces will line up? Jez
