Hi Nick Well done! - doesn't sound like it's too long a list There are quite a few discussion threads on the forum about the Lamda problem. (I havn't got that far yet - but they might give you some clues) You'll have it on the road soon James

    Will It Pass?

All the best! Fingers crossed..... James
  5. I've wired up the instrument cluster as per RH diagram, apart from one connection. On the back of the insturment cluster, pin number 6 is supposed to be connected to the Blue/Green wire from engine multiplud 2. But I can't find a Blue/Green wire I've found a Green/Blue wire, and connected this up (being hopeful....), but no temp reading, even when the engine is very hot! I've looked through the hynes manual (for rover 800 series) and it says the Green/ Blue wire is for coolant temp gauge - so I'd have thought that should do it. But I've checked the voltage coming out of it and it's zero. Has anyone else had this problem Harvs.

    Super Spec For Sale

Mine cost closer to £10k including VAT. (was one of the earlier deals, with a little more already built...). Does this mean mine will be worth more? Think not....! I wonder what he's put as the reserve? Harvs.

    It Starts!

Thanks guys The thought of getting it on the road will certainly keep me going. Maybe a few small trips up and down the drive is the next milestone... (After I've sorted out the brakes - very steep drive!!) Harvs

    It Starts!

Wow, after a year or so of tinkering in the garage I've got the build to the point of turning the engine over. What a feeling! (and quite a lot of noise too...!) Just wanted to share my excitement - and to say thanks for all the tips / comments / inspiration etc I've got from this forum.... Just a small job of finishing it off. (Or has the real work just begun?!) Harvs

    Superspec Fail

Good result Will! Only a few points to sort out. Should be on the road for at leat some of the summer...! Harvs

    Superspec Alternator

Dave I've wired mine as the guys above. The large wire would only fit in the top screw, and the smaller wire would then only fit on the middle screw. Must be right?! Harvs.
  14. Excellent news - well done! Just in time for the summer.......! Harvs
  15. Dave Congratulations on getting it up and running. My alternator wires weren't long enough either. I just undid the engine loom from the rail where the fuel line is fastened (on the offside of the engine). This allowed the loom to route a little closer to the engine and gives just enough length to reach the alternator. Hope this helps. Harvs.
  16. It was absolutely p****** it down when we collected our superspec. But Richard came out in the rain to help us check everything off so we could be on our way. He even posed for a photo with us and our new toy! The story certainly doesn't ring true with me.... Harvs.

    I Am Back !

Fantastic! Hope you have a speedy recovery. Harvs.
  18. Hi Rusty Just a thought - would the reservoir be classes as a second 'non new' item on the super spec? If so, you might not be able to get a new registration plate... Harvs

    Any Ideas ?

Hi Friar Have you thought about taking it to a Rover garage so that they can plug their diagnostics kit into the ECU? Bit of a hassle, but might flag up the problem... James

    Well This Is A First!

Cheers Dredd. Good pictures! Just looking at the small clear pipe, which you've used as an overflow - wouldn't this stop the system from being able to pressurise?

    Well This Is A First!

Nice one! How have you attached your flexi's? I used a steel plate, bent it 90 degrees and fixed it to the bottom suspension bolt. Not sure if this is the best way to do it, but it's a very strong fixing and allows plent of slack on the flexis. Have fun!
  24. Hi e I'm in the process of moving house from Nottingham to Leeds. I'm currently working in Leeds during the week and living in Nottingham at the weekend while building my Super Spec - would definitely recommend moving house first - before there's the temptation of playing in the garage! Only a few weeks left to pick up time! Harvs

    Well This Is A First!

Dredd, your plumbing sounds interesting. I'm at the plumbing stage of building my SS. I've just managed to find somewhere that sells a t-piece to fit as Richard has recommended. However, hearing Bugsy's problem, an alternative way of doing it sounds like the way forwards. I'd be interested in having a look at a photo if you have one?! Bugsy - well done on your SVA test. Only 10 points, most of which don't sound like too much of a disaster.... The handbrake one sounds a bit tricky though? Cheers James
