Hi I have had my robin hood on the road now for 8 months now. But the Dvla still sent me a tax reminder for the Donor. Too which I phoned and sent a letter to state that the car had been rebuilt and donor scraped with the local DVLA office keeping the original V5. So then the other day I received a fine for not taxing the said Donor from the continuous registration centre in Poole. As you can imagine I was livid A new letter was drafted then I remembered I had a fax number for the local office so I also faxed the letter to them. I have finally received a reply and they apologies as well. See attached pic. A result. Stephen Altwasser.

DAVE I HAVE A 2B DOHC SO MAY BE DIFFERENT Do not run fuel and power together keep on DIFFERENT sides if poss . wrapping the loom sounds fine do not fix to brake lines as rubbing may cause failure in brake system. Fix both every 6 ". To secure cable to wheel arch at back fix through arch in to back of the rubber light mounts if using standard rhsc lights. Or bond on some fixings /p clips with glass fiber / isopon etc. keep building Stephen Altwasser

Jim Have placed an order.Whats the best way to cut holes. I have a nibbler.aviation snips. jig saw. angle grinder.?? I think i need to get this done before Le Mans. Ps what happened about the Le Mans menu? Thanks Stephen Altwasser

Thanks for the replys I have the dohc car so the exhaust is on the passenger side. Have not cooked a passenger yet. the fan cuts in a quite a high temp 98c I think on this engine so the chance of it cutting in while moving is quite remote. Dose this happen on the pinto cars ie do you cook in a jam. Also can heat affect the cluch as I had a problem getting in to rev at stoneligh the other week.( mt 75 box) thanks Stephen Altwasser

Hi To suck or blow is the question? I have my rad fan mounted in front of the rad and at the moment it is blowing air through the rad in to the engine bay,and at me the driver.I sat in a jam on monday and I nearly cooked. I do not have any bonnet vents all the heat seamed to be comming around foot well. So if The fan sucked the hot air away from me would this work ok for engine. I did have it ticking over when first fitted with the fan sucking and did seam ok. So is a blow job best or a good suck!!?? Any view would help Thanks Steve DOHC2B Altwasser

Go for it the super spec is now good value at its new lower price. i han only ever changed pluges ,oil and brake pads before I built my car last year. Its great fun to do and even more to drive. Hi i al so ran my fuel and brake lines along the top of the two tubes above the tunnel with only the power below. in the tunnel and passed the sva with out any question. i looket at a westfield at a show with them running along the floor if i had don that they would be cut and bashed by now. I have a 30 Amp push switch wired in to the back if the iginition switch to position 3.so you turn switch ignition on and push to start. I did this after the sva with a second key switch as well. Stephen Altwasser.

Hi the europa one is to small. I went to by one before sva, I think that RS jig tec now do them to fit the hood for under £50. I saw a post on this sight about them on the open days. Stephen Altwasser

Hi no 3 or 1 for me please. Do you have a graphics program to draw your designs in ie Adobe Illstrator or Freehand as I may be able to help on my Mac at work. The new RHOCAR logo would also look neat and is well drawn if not as a bonnet badge May be a Pin to wear. Wel done Stephen Altwasser

Hi stu I have just recived a road tax renewal form for my donor after the hood being on the road since Oct and giving the log book to the dvla for the build up inspection so if the local dvla and head office do not talk. I think you are safe my engine did not match log book and i still got an age related plate as you only need 3 major items IE rear axel, front hubs ,diff, gear box, all count my donor had abs the hood dos not so getting a servo from a scrap yard will be ok. Hi I have only used half of the 1ft sq Foam I had fun getting that in as I have a so called swirl pot fitted in side the tank after pushing the foam through hole for sender/fuel pump (all one on dohc car) the foam sat in side the swirl pot after a lot of swearing and cut hands I manager to push it to clear the swirl pot and sender this sits in the swirl pot. So the fuel can not slosh back and forth so freely in the tank and stays in the swirl pot better. The foam now fillers about half of the tank. Well that is the idea. I can sell the rest of the foam if you need it. Stephen Altwassser

Hi I have now fitted some fuel tank foam from demon thieves a 1ft sq will hold 28 lit i have cut to size and crammed it to the tank seames to work ok so far but have not used car much after fitting so time will tell. Stephen Altwasser

HI I HAVE A DOHC 2 B CAR ON THE ROAD I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE CAR THE ENGIN IS A BIT BIGGER THAN THE PINTO BUT GOES WELL THE DOHC KIT HAS A DIFFRENT CHASSI TO ALLOW FOR THIS.
