  1. So can you remove the ring within the standard wheel or do you have to buy a new one. Not had a look at how the standard wheel is made up . Cheers Pete
  2. Hi I am looking at getting a steering wheel boss for my Zero but I want to be sure that the Indicator cancel, Steering lock and horn will work as per the standard wheel. Do any of you know of a make a model of Boss that will allow me to this. I have a Seirra 94 steering Colum. Cheers Pete
  3. Welcome aboard Simon. I'm based in Wokingham so very close to you. I've been building a Zero GT for the last 24 months and just put in the paperwork for the IVA. PM me if you want to meet up or need some help. Pete
  4. Thanks to all of you for the info, I'm going to give it a go and get them as close as I can, then as suggested take the right spanner with me to make a final adjustment at the test centre. Cheers Pete
  5. Thanks to you both. I'll give it a go using the wife's Civic. Cheers Pete
  6. Gent's I’m on the final straight in my 2 year Zero GT build and I am getting her ready for the IVA. Still have a load of trimming to do and check the speed calibration Etc on the digi dash. The other item I am trying to get to grips with is the headlight alignment. I was wondering if anyone has a trick to set this up without using an alignment checker. Any hints and tips would be gratefully received. Cheers Pete
  7. Thanks Gents, I like the idea of taxing it all year round and driving it. I've been an all weather biker for years so taking the car will not be a problem. Seems that a well ventilated area with no heat source will fend it off as well. Q Thanks for the advice. Pete
  8. Gent’s I am about to fit my interior to my Zero and I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion on how to protect against mould. I am worried as I have alcantra dash and tunnel top and carpeted floor, sides and tunnel walls. My Garage is not attached to the house and does get a bit damp in the winter. I would like to try to avoid running a heater in their all over the winter as that is expensive so any suggestions would be very helpful. Is it a big problem or am I worringing about nothing? Cheers Pete
  9. I've got an ETB DD2 digital dash not what your after I know but I wanted to say the guys a ETB have been very helpful and the product is really great. I would recommend them after my experiences. Pete
  10. Hi Paul Effective and cheap solution, nice one. Pete

    Single Plenium

You may find that the other one is the inlet of a remote IACV I know GBS was looking at this but I used mine to control the fuel reg as I bolted the IACV directly to the plenum.

    Single Plenium

That hole is to take the air temperature sensor.
  13. I have already done a buzzer and light conversion on my Zero, works as you would expect, I have a circuit drawing if anyone wants a copy just pm me. I would post on hear but I can't seem to find a simple way to do this. Pete
  14. Am I right in saying you can just have a warning buzzer that sound if the switch is lift on and the ignition is off? This is what I have done.
  15. Quick question, I thought that IVA rules say that the fog light must not work until the dipped or main beams are switched on. So if you have a system that lights up if you have power from the ignition switch or side lights will this pass? I had to go to great lengths to make sure my fog light only works when the dipped or main beam is on. Cheers Pete
  16. I went down the buzzer route. Works a very well and cost me just £5 for a 12v buzzer and relay. Simple and cheap, I like that!

    Sides

The other thing to consider is ascetics. I am taking the car on track and 30% is a lot stiffer once you start to really test the handling but one of my considerations was that I only had to rivet the top and bottom of the panel to the car which means a cleaner look to the sides and also means less holes in the chassis rails.

    No Spark

Check there is power to the coil pack, then check the signal to the coil from the ECU and if you have no luck there then try the crank sensor.

    Tin Top Question

I would have to go with the master cylinder. Might be worth taking it off the plenumb and see if you have anything getting past the seal on the piston.
  20. Gents Can anyone tell me the size of the hole I need to make for my gear stick. The car is a Zero GT with a zetec , mt75 and the Gbs gear lever kit. Any advice would be gratefully received. Cheers Pete

    Zetec Omex Map

Give the guys at Omex a call. I called them, asked if they had a start up map for my Zetec and within half an hour it was sat on my email. Great service and very helpful bunch. Pete
  22. You actually need a supply from the switched side of the dipped and main beam relays as the dipped beam relay switches off when you switch to main beam. Which also means you need a diode in both supply's or they will supply pore to each other.
  23. Might be wrong but this looks like the lamp will work with the side lights. Which means it would not comply with the regs. Has to only work with dipped and main beams.

    Zero Chassis Number

I tried to make up my own number and the local DVLA office would not let me use it, they issued me a number instead so I guess it's down to what the local DVLA will let you get away with.
  25. I think I was a bit too keen as well, I've fitted the pipe and the hager so that will have to be moved as well, Dohh! Thank for the help. Pete
