  1. they are from the 2 litre sohc engine possibly a cavalier sri but not the redtop, they have a longer nose/end. Steve
  2. have been messing about with another members efi car that wouldn't idle and once we cured it he swapped his ford injectors for some from an 8 valve injection cavalier. he thinks that has given about an extra 10-15bhp and to quote him 'it goes like a b*st*rd and pulls like a train' - could be something to do with the flow rates Steve
  3. Phil there are some on this link, the 4x4 ones are too big but the 400x8 may be ok Steve
  4. the seat one on Jim's NW site is mine and works a treat with a 2l efi pinto, only problem i've had was a blown fuse in the power to the fan. Ant b has fitted one to his 2.1 pinto but i dont think he's given it a proper testing/thrashing yet the connections are 32mm same as the sierra while the nissan micra has 25mm so you need to get a bit inventive to reduce your hose diameters Steve
  5. have you got an air leak? are all the connections back on the manifold ie brake servo pipe refitted, pressure regulator connection fitted, rubber cap on the pipe from the bottom of the throttle body/butterfly housing fitted. i rebuilt a mini engine a few years ago and it would not start, thought that i'd got something really wrong as the vernier pullies i put on had the timing marks in the wrong place altogether. just as i was resigning myself to the fact that i'd dropped a b*ll*ck and the engine would have to come out i spotted the hole in the inlet manifold where the servo would connect in an MG metro - put a bolt in the hole and it ran straight away. Steve
  6. heres how its done on my car passenger side seen looking from front to back no rubber bush at all, all original stuff replaced by two pieces of angle iron on each side of the car, then bolted solidly to the mounting plates. also appears to have reduced the height of the arch over the rear wheel without affecting ground clearance Steve
  7. Nige mine are all in line straight across the car, you'll see them soon Steve
  8. Re smoke alarms anybody who lives in Greater Manchester you can get FREE 10 year smoke detectors from your local fire station. just phone up and ask for a home fire risk assessment and a crew will come along to your house, have a look around, ask a few questions, discuss an escape plan and fit the detectors for you. i think this is a nationwide initiative but not 100% sure Steve

    Fuel Filter

if you are using injection you can use that filter pre fuel pump but you will need a metal injection fuel filter between the pump and the injectors - one from a vauxhall cavalier/astra/calibra is good and not too big - about a tenner Steve
  15. Nige your always welcome to come and have a look at mine or can bring the car to you if you want Steve
  16. i think the cornering thing depends on hoew you do your set up. i've used a thing called an air seperater from a heating system for a swirl pot, this only holds 250ml of fuel which at about 30 mpg is enough for 1.5 miles or so and i,ve had no trouble with it, not many corners that long around here. because of the way i set mine up i have to feed the fuel from the tank to the swirl pot with a low pressure pump then the injection pump from a cavalier feeds the injectors. if i'd known of the golf pump earlier i would have tried it Steve
  17. don't know much about it other than this thread golf fuel pump i think if you could get it close up under the tank it would be worth trying to see if gravity and the pump could get the fuel through in enough quantity to feed the injectors Steve
  18. some headlamp units on ebay link link may have a bid on the black ones myself cos i like the look of them Steve
