    Wiper Assembly

    Wiper Assembly

Hi guys Just been fitting the wiper assembly into the spec, and averything checked out fine, before bolting it into the scuttle. But now having bolted the scuttle to the car and wired everything, up the arm connected to the motor slightly catches part of the assembly and there is a "clunk" each rotation. SO do I have to take the scuttel off AGAIN :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: to fix this, or does anyone think I might get by with a bit of a clunking wiper ???? I await in trepidation....... e

    Internet Question?

You can always go for power lan adaptors. No security issues you have with wireless, no cat5 cables need laying as they send the network traffic over the houses ring-mains. very neat about 8 - 11mbs. You need either an ethernet card in your pc, or you can use USB versions. I've two PC's and the Xbox hooked up this way... works fine here is a link to lindy electronics e

    Help Needed

Hi Guys thanks for the input so far. The battery has been replaced and all terminals are good to go. I'll check the earth strap as suggested and see what state that is in I hope it is that simple So Chris you think the starter and solenoid will be fine? I had thought the clicking was the starter no engaging or something. Its the sort of noise you get if the battery doesn't have enough juice (although its usually just one click). This thing just clicks away till you release the ignition Still I'll do the earth strap check first then worry if it still wont start I'll do some more on it tonight, but I may be posting back here guys cheers e

    Help Needed

Hi all I need some help to solve a problem I have with the spek. Whilst working on the engine yesterday I managed to drop a spanner which landed on the positive terminal on the battery touching the chassis. The contact was made for about 5 seconds (it took me that long to realise what was happening) The spanner has Bl**dy hot! But she wont start anymore!!! :boohoo: :boohoo: Its not the battery as I've changed it. On turning the ignition all you get is a series of load clicks from the starter motor. Doesn't attempt to turn the engine, just clicks. I think the solenoid or even the starter may be kaput! Anyone got any ideas? and how to test them ? and do you think anything else may have been effected by the current... like the ecu All fuses are fine btw thanks e

    Superspec Shocker

HI Bill I'm not planning on "ganging up on Richard" (or rather Robin Hood ) and I haven't had any probs yet, as I'm still building......... BUT this isnt the first post from a super-speker about problems with the rear shocks. Following the other issue it seems that the superspec has a slightly different mount than the 2B's have. My post was really one of offering support, from the point of: If there is a material engineering design flaw, then individuals incurring costs wouldn't be fair ..... I truely hope that this isn't a problem associated with Specs .... But I know built-it has posted a thread about having to replace his shocks. ... OH and you know, I'm not really a "all Doom and Gloom" type. I wouldn't have bought a Robin Hood would I !? it would have been some unchallenging snap-together-over-developed joby-whats-it I cant wait to get her ready and hit the road flat out and see what falls off (or otherwise) Dredd/Built-it if you guys need any help or support just shout. e

    Superspec Shocker

HI sorry to hear about your woes dredd! Is there any way we can claim that the provided componants (ie the shocks) are "not fit for purpose" and get RH to cover the cost of replacing all shocks supplied in the kit ? Should we move on this as a group, rather than let poor Derek have to act alone ? e
  16. Thanks guys - Much appreciated !!!! On the windscreen fitting.... are there any measurements for positioning it? I havent found anything in the vids (but I could have missed it) ta v muchly e
  17. Hi Guys after coming up with a few ideas over the weekend...none seemed to bright btw .... I need some help with how best to fit the wiper motor assembly and the heaters in the superspec. If anyone who already has managed to fit these could give me some pointers, I'd be very grateful, any pictures too would be great.... thanks e

    F1 Teams Charged

Yeah it would have been like Le Mans with different speeds for different cars, BUT repeated every LAP! Madness. What kind of race would it have been to have 14 cars slowing to probably around the 100 mark while the other 6 are accelerating to 206 mph... bloomin daft! AND dangerous. Yes Michelin was at fault for the tyre and lack of backup tyre situation.... BUT the FIA would NOT move its position about compromises, I dont see what the teams realistically could have done... raced ,had their drivers on a go slow, caused an accident and then had their arses shot off AND sued by all parties. The Fia HAVE to get themsleves off the hook - so they attack the teams ... these being primarliy the manufacturer backed teams who are involved with plans for the break away championship in 2008.... mmmmm me thinks the FIA have seen the opportunity to give them a good kicking. Of course it just strengthens the case for the teams to want out of F1..... BUT the new series if it happens would need FIA endorsment..... bit of a bugger that situation. e
  20. Hi I'm a fan of F1 have been for a long time, dont like Max Mosely, Bernie Ecc' and Charlie whiting. Yes Michelin were in the wrong with their tyre. But there were so many suggested work arounds that the FIA simply vetoed it demonstrated once and for all that any semblance of sport and sportsmanship has long died in F1. Interesting I couldn't find any email or feedback links on the FIA's website. I wanted to share my thoughts with them If F1 is to survive there needs to be a fundemental overhaul of the people who claim to be the "sporting" council. Money, power and being in control is all that seems to fuel F1. I think Ferrari made themselves to look totally off the planet (again) by refusing to join in with the other teams. Lets face it with a chicane or new tyres the ferraris, jordans and minardis would have started at the front of the grid, with a very strong chance that the red cars could have won anyway from there! Pathetic hollow result and they should be ashamed of themselves. AND B****R the season has been actually very good this year, just as F1 looked like it was getting back to challanging racing .... they do this, way to go charlie! e

    Superspec Fail At Derby

The Bulk head grommet certainly came in my kit, but was a total PIG to fit, as the inner piece has a triangulated apperture and the shaft is round Call Tech support get them to send one out to you, no need to part with money e

    Superspec

Well I have to confess...... I didn't do a LOT of research on the actual kit itself. Been after a kit since I was about 12. Got the chance of buying one so I started surfing the net for suppliers, started with caterham of course, that was WAY too much money . Eventually found the Superspec on RHE website and thought "mmmm looks interesting" . Went to the next kit car show (that weekend) wondered around the RHOCaR area, chatted to a coule of guys there then went to look at the Kit. Liked it, went to the factory the following weekend ask a load of questions and eventually ordered one the next week. It is true that the kit was marketed as a complete sva compatible product, having said that there was a very clear disclaimer that they would assist with any and all items needed during the build to make sure it went through the SVA (so far they have with my build). When I very first started I have to admit I WAS dissapointed with the engineering of some of the kit, But I'd spent 2 months waiting for the kit to arrive reading this site. You do need a certain state of mind to appreciate a HOOD without getting too dispondant, and yep I've had moments, but on the whole I'm having a great time building the car. And Tech Support Line isnt the warmest of Customer facing services I've encountered, but I've never known blatant rudeness... Just my twopeneth... e
