    Robin Hoos Site

Now that Bill has pointed me in the direction of this thread, rather than the one I added today (ooppps) , I guess the new owners my still be interested in the Rager as a possible development, Unless of course they havent come up with a price yet. The Roller looks nice, good plate too. I have to agree with stuart, that lambretta is tempting e
  2. D'OH!!! thanx Bill sorry fellas! I really need to learn to read e
  3. Hi folks anyone checked out the sale at RH? Some interesting items on there, some not so cheap, like the Ferrari Daytona @ £12K. A lot of part builts, prototypes, even a chopper! But I like the £12K 1955 Rolls Royce, has a cool plate "UOK 300"...... e

    Superspec Wiring

Hi Phil That is the right way, white is the output, with red as the return. Bugger! :boohoo: Are you getting petrol to the filter? ie is your pump actually pumping? Then from the filter it hits the injection rail (i take it the rail is connected the the engine bay loom - sorry if thats another stupid question) e
  5. Hi I've noted the same camber on my rears, but as its not on the road yet I dunno if its gonna be a problem or not. On this subject (ish) did you guys see the new racing chassis RH had at stoneleigh ? To take a sierra diff but with rear wishbones and no trailing arms (so none of these camber issues). Pity they didn't think of that for the 2B's and 'specs . OF course I'm now tempted to find a local engineering outfit that could do a conversion at some point after SVA.... but thats more money and I'm fast running out of the green/blue/brown and purple stuff e

PS - the battery I had with the kit was also kn***ered, wouldn't charge at all. New one went in and made a huge difference.... e

    Superspec Wiring

Hi Phil When I got mine going I had pretty much the same problem, lots of sparks, everything seemed to activate... but no turn over..... and the problem was..... no fuel in the cylinders!!! Yep Bugsy's "hope this doesn't sound stupid" question is EXACTLY what I'd done, got the fuel return and output lines crossed Of course when I disconnected the fuel line and didn't get covered in petrol the penny dropped Switched em over and ROAR. Hope yours is as simple matey !!!! good luck e
  8. MMM Very nice! what did you do for the dash lower edge, looks great?? e

    Has Anyone Got One Yet

Hi theres been a lot of talk about the lightweight on and off over the past 12 months. RS seems to have said, almost all along, that its not really a road car, but more aimed at track car buyers. Who would use the chassis for a single season, with a full rebuild (new kit) for the following season. Or at least thats how I remember him explaining it to me last summer e PS RS was saying at stoneliegh that the sale for RHE was finalised on the previous friday. So I guess there should be some news in the near future e

    Insurance

Hi I went to Adrian Flux, got a great price for the buildup cover including accidents all they wanted to know was a) How much the kit cost and that I was a member of this club Of course the fun will be a valuation of what its worth once finished!!!! hope this helps e

    Stoneleigh 2005

Hi all Just wanted to say thanks to the ROHCaR folks I met on Sunday at the show, made to feel very welcome! SO thanks for that and for some of the advice I got re dash boards, instruments, trim etc. Thought the show was v good (but spent tooooooo much money ) It must have been the first show I've been to where I paid more attention to the componant and parts stands than to the manufacturers, much to the annoyance of my son I think And after seeing Dredds 'spec at the show I'm more than a little motivated and the other 'superspec builders (too many name to remember sorry!!) thanks again e (ian)

  13. Hi Guys Thanks for the input. I think the ring is on the right way round, but I'll experiment. Did think of gluing rubber inside, but wasn't sure if it'd melt Thank you e
  14. Hi Just fitted my sealed beams to the headlight housings and once I got them seated properly with the outer clamp tightened up fully, they rattle gotta be missing something obvious ..but dunno what Any thoughts guys cheers e
  15. Hey Neal, hope you dont go on Saturday .... the shows Sunday and Monday c you there mate e
  16. Cool, I'll look you out. Btw, spent most of saturday in the garage and managed to get 3inches now! But the passenger side front AND rear shocks are a pig to adjust, just keep rotating  nearly had to go and buy a spring compressor just to get the nut to travel up the shaft. e
  17. Fantastic Result I was thinking of using Nottm when I get to that time.... cheers e
  18. Yeah following on from these guys, I had the same problem with cold water in the bottle, air lock I have actually re-routed the top pipe around the side of the engine now, not perfect but a lot better . As for the Fan I did the same as Dredd, a relay, a fuse and a few wires to the rad switch and fan.... cheers e

    Superspec Rear Shocks

Plus you've got the monolithic petrol tank sitting across the top of the diff between the mounting points... Even moving the sdamper up a notch can start to snag so there'd be little chance of moving the top mount points inward. RS has drilled through the trailing arm for the bottom of the shock, so there is now two holes.. MAYbe possible to bolt through the original and the new one with a slight angle on the shock.......(if two holes are needed) - Chris you got a picture of yours ? ( oo-er missus ) e

    Superspec Rear Shocks

Hi i think you're probably right there chris - I inadvertantly drilled into my rad (yes I know that was a bit dumb) and when I phoned RS he couldn't remember what rads were supplied with the Spec's, nor where he sourced them. Tho to be fair he did say he might be able to find me one if needed. So I learnt to solder a car radiator a couple of weeks ago ran the engine for about 25 mins and nothing leaked, so i think I did ok But sourcing spares is going to become an issue in future, especially once Richard hands over completely. e
  23. Hi thanks for that allbejay - Couldn't find anything for the T series but the K kits costs around £800... so i wont be going that route I've got a call in re the remote filter. Dredd - the top are in the inner position and the wishbone end is one away from the ball joint, so there is some scope there - just been in the garage and wound one of the springs about half way and I've got just under 3 inches - so i think I'll move the wishbone seat to the next one in and wind up both springs to about a third, that should do it So many thanks for the input from everyone , panic over Btw DREDD - I checked the rear end and floor to bottom edge of the side panel is 8.5 inches, with a load in the car, a bit off RS's 6 - 7 inches, and the wheel arch looks way too high (tho not fitted yet). Did you have to move the top seat of the shocks on yours ? cheers e

    Superspec Rear Shocks

Must admit I did wonder about spares and so on once I realised he just bought a job-lot of everything! Maybe the Super-specers need to start collating any info they have on sourcing various parts/componants for future use ?? e
