Tom

When I say first drive, I Just took it for a spin around the back lanes just to make sure all was well before taking it to MOT later in the day (I just took a more scenic route to the testing station, "I think I took a wrong turning officer, I'm sure the testing station was here somewhere :D ")

Took windscreen off for test, it only takes 10 mins to remove and replace. Windscreen wipers add weight you know. :p

Hey guys!

Dare I ask..... but is there any room for a boot (what we call a trunk in good old USA) in the back of a LW??

I intend on using mine for autoX, track days, and for touring with my wife; poor dear, she can really put up with a lot!

So is there any room back there for, say, a weekend trip? Pictures would be great too! Thanks!

hi emile

hope this is clear noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

there isnt any room for jack english this side of the pond for anything .

with the tank pump and filter in the trunk you may just squeeze in a set of spanners , but nothing else ,

regards graham

you may wish to consider a trailor !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Graham,

Thanks for the reply, although, you don't have to beat around the bush man. A simple yes or no would've sufficed. HAHAHAHA

And by spanners, I'll assume you meant wrenches... :p

That's too bad. Would there even be room for a rolled-up top? I intend on having a top that spans from the top of the windscreen to the top of the roll bar, just to protect from rain. Something that snaps into place, and could just be rolled up and thrown in the boot, or trailer in this case.

Thanks,

Emile

And i wasn't rying to offend anyone with my joke... just trying to get a laugh out of you guys!

Building a Lightweight is a serious matter and joking is frowned on. :(

Look on my build site to see the matter of construction of a L/W given the correct gravity and importance.

i mentioned earlier that i had posted the wrong date for the mot ect .

it was today,

all went well many thanks graham

i do seem to have a small problem ,in that the engine no starts hs ford tell me that this relates to 2 years of production ,1968 and 1987 ,

my problem is that the engine is 711m not produced till mid 70s.

and i thought that it went out of production well before 87.

the kent engine did carry on in the fiesta and later in the ka but with different block stamps .

hence my dillema has it been re stamped ?

or am i wrong ????
