I disagree with the FIA but just to throw a spanner in the works, he did have a slight advantage by being so close to him and being able to tuck right in behind him into the slipstream which he wouldn't have done if he had taken the corner... (runs)

True I think the only way to make this funeral procession more exciting is to reverse the grid so the top driver starts at the back and has to actually pass cars to win the race and not just time his pit stops to let him gain time over his opponents, works well in other motorsports, we did it when I was grassing and stockcar racing - wanna stay top dog - well get past them all, you know over take on the track not in the pit lane.

qualifying boring send your man out in a car all set up with no fuel worn tyres get a quick time then let him race in a fully laden and wait till car reaches ultimate race weight then fill it full of fuel again - give the cars a tank big enough for a full race, naff a set of tyres by all mean pit but just to gain an edge by making your pit crew perform acrobatics to get you out 3 tenths faster than quickfit boring - race ffs

If they did that and won then they would soon find them selves at the back again, and again would have to overtake to win it works on the points scored not the poncy qualifying, so nil point = front of grid
