Its that time of year when our bankers yes bankers with a B get their bonus. so those that got us in this mess get millions, I have nopoblem with this as long as we didnt bale you out. If the goverment (the taxpayer) bailed you out to the tune of 87% goverment owened then you get 13% of your bonus and the goverment get the rest to cover the cost of sorting out the mess you lot got us in to

I'm told that after a banking crisis in the 17th century bankers were tied in sacks and thrown into the Thames.

Sometimes I think we have a lot to learn from our ancestors!

it seems to me that the targets they get set are too low if they appear to get the bonus every single year.

at our place bonus payments are made if you have signirficantly over achived, i got one last year for more than doubling my targets (we had the biggest year we've had in the last 7 years), but these guys appear to get a bonus for turning up.

on the other hand if you bought a business that had been struggling and wanted to see sales rise to get your investment back you wouldnt tell all the sales guys overnight that you'd abolished bonuses, or if you did i suspect most would leave and any that didnt would be next to useless.

Moving the topic on slightly........

........i wonder if the court rulling on the "illegal bank charges" would have gone in the favour of the customer, had the banks not been bailed out.

Therefore not capable of fund all the customer claims ?????.

Or is that me being a cynic

The bank offered Carole an out of court settlement of £500.00, 18 months ago, proof of the fees being illegal???? we felt so.......

On advice that "the case" against the banks was rock solid she refused the offer  oh hum.

I know for a fact that if there was one thing in the world I would like to be able to do without it would be the "b* wbankers"

why do the get a bonus, when I worked for a big company at the end of the year we had an appraisal if we did better than average we had a pay rise or moved up a grade so why do bankers get loads of money for just doing thier job?

Would there be enough bricks available as balast?

majority of the peoples bonus at the moment is actually having a job to go to.

Not wanting to create an argumentative thread, but, as far as the banks go with charges, if people go over drawn they get charged.. simple. If the courts had swayed the decision the other way people like myself would have to start paying to bank our money to pay for the returned charges for others. i was chuffed when the decision was made.

Quite agree Mark, I was just putting a futher point to the banking industries being "protected" and well looked after.

Some peoples worlds fall apart occasionally and they find them selves at the end of 30 year marriges, widowed, with childern to support.

Falling behind with things occasionally because other thing take on a higher importance than checking the bank account all the time seems to be a bigger crime than looking after the countries coffers.

Agree with all observations however there like leaches unfortunately they perform task and being self employed although they couldn't wait to cut back teeth to lie thro em! I need em perhaps RHOCAR should set up bank. All staff must drive hoodie and as part of therapy during work hours have kit on go at work to de-stress and get positive vibs plus all that other nonsense they talk about. Ifanyone out there sitting on stacks of cash or lottery winner we'll get the ball rolling.
