What is the point of the db test then (at IVA) & when does a noisy exhaust become a "non silencer" piece of pipe? Glad ours came in at 92db; can still hear the sat nav & my wife argueing over correct route.

Because each kit car is different an mot tester would struggle to fail it on noise, the noise has to be clearly way above the noise from a similar vehicle with a standard silencer, which begs the question.... What is standard besides iva db levels, but then how many dbs above iva limit is an unreasonable level. Fortunately we do not possess noise meters within the mot industry to even measure the exhaust noise. Pass it and leave it alone is my opinon.
