What's Your Dash Made From?

I used 12mm exterior grade MDF (Waterproof). It is easy to work with either a jigsaw or hand tools such as a coping saw, you can glue on an extra thickness on the bottom edge to achieve the correct radius for SVA or IVA which can be quickly achieved by hand filing and sanding . It is strong enough to be self supporting thus dependent on your scuttle arrangement you can make the scuttle removable leaving all instruments and wiring in place . A very acceptable and attractive textured satin finish can be achieved by spraying the unit ( Before fitting the gauges etc. ) with a " Stone Chip Paint " aerosol which is usualy black, however most of those can usualy be over sprayed . Practise on a scrap piece first.

Yes Duck it was to you (you started the topic). I was in a roundabout way making sure you knew about the radius edge as most pic's above were retrospective new dash arrangements. Plywood will be grand if finished well :friends:
