Just back from the National Meet. Great to put some faces to names. Thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome at my first meet. And I even got to buy some onions!!

Plus the old girl did well 300 miles nearly and no Drama's.

Cheers Guys. See you at the next one.

What a great weekend! We couldn't have asked for better weather and members support for the first national meet like we've had this weekend!

This was just the strong start this new event needed to get it off the ground! I'm really excited what the future holds as support grows and the ideas from this weekend develop.

I'd like to thank everyone involved in turning this weekend from an idea we had at Hollowell steam 2012 into a reality. So many people chipped in over the weekend helping out with one thing or another so thank you to all of you (to many to name).

Thank you to everyone who came and supported this because without your support these kind of things just don't work.

And lastly I would just like to add my appreciation that everyone behaved responsibly and the rally site and facilities have been left in the same condition as when we arrived.

Looking forward to seeing some photos....tractor driving, archery, BBQ, spud-cannon to name a few :)

Big thank you to all that turned knowing that it was basically a field with a toilet block and only cold water. turned out to be a great weekend and hopefully the start of a annual meet. I have already asked Alan if we can book it for last weekend September 2014, have also asked if we can hire the marquee so if the weather was not as kind to us as this year we will have proper shelter. So get it on your calendars for next year, National meet 26th to 28th September 2014

throughly enjoyed it as did keira (my6yr old) and sue despite her sprained ankle. Thanks to absolutely everyone who organised helped and turned up I hope everyone else enjoyed it. Lets make the next one better still.

Keira especially enjoyed driving my peugeot coupe round the field.. future petrol head creation. ..

Awesome weekend! Just like to further the thanks as mentioned above, a cracking team effort by one and all.

Also nice to welcome some of the Jago crew along and I'm looking forward to next year already.

The Archery was well received and a cracking addition to what was a brilliant way to end the season. Many thanks to Disco Si for providing and tutoring to us.

The only problem I found was that I knew I had nothing to do, but was struggling on where to do it! ;)

Brilliant to take the kids out and let them drive my Land Rover and on the Tractor.

Emma B especially enjoyed her little trip around the field! ;)

What a great weekend, We didn't manage to arrive till quite late Friday night, vision was nil in the field due to it being pitch black, but in no time we were directed to our pitch by torch light, after being guided into our caravan parking spot I hobbled out of the car to find Nick (shaft) was already winding the legs down and unhitching the caravan for me. A couple of mugs of tea and a quickly consumed bottle of wine later, myself and Emma retired for the night.

Saturday morning dawned and before I was even dressed, Phil and numerous other members were out laying out ropes and other items for a couple of driving tests. The day consisted of driving with a bucket on my head (Emma reckoned it was a vast improvement to both my looks and driving ability
:sorry:
), Archery, socialising with everybody that was there and watching Simon B transform a bit of drain pipe, some sticky back plastic, a squirt of right guard and a spud into a weapon of mass destruction. My boys spent the afternoon steering Nicks landrover around the field (Nick reckons my youngest, Matthew, has a screw loose, For Nick to say this gets me worried
) , a tractor was supplied for people to have a go on and in true RHOCaR fashion.... most did, men... women...children...and Nick. Phill organised a car treasure hunt which was enjoyed by many. The evening fell into the usual drunken banter we all look forward to at any kit meet and many a giggle was had. A few hangovers were provided for the members by the keg of beer supplied by the local brewery.

Lots of people to thank I will miss some im sure :

Thanks to :

Hollowell steam rally for the use of the field and facilities.

Phillip for having the idea and the vision to carry it through into the success that it was and for creating the treasure hunt.

Nick (shaft) for transporting the club gear and providing entertainment with his Landy for the kids and bigger kids.

Simon B, for bringing the archery equipment and giving archery lessons... oh and for scaring the living s**t out of us all with his big boy spud cannon.

Badger (hollowell Steam Rally) for the use of his tractor over the weekend.

Dave (Hollowell Steam Rally) for the help and support he gave us.

A final thanks to all the members and families that turned up and made it all worth while. Thank you all.

Hi Folks,

It was good to catch up with a few of you that I've not seen for years. Your no better looking and your Mums still dress you funny though! :0)

Thanks to the efforts of Phil and others. It looked like a cracking small event with folk making their own fun with what was available. If you get twice as many next year & so on & so forth. The event will be rivaling the big established kit car events in no time at all! It's the people that attend that make or break an event like that. So you guys will undoubtedly suceed.

Regards Jez

PS.... Kev, what was all that b#llcks about having to change the colour of your car cos Mr Plod kept pulling you over??? Pick any colour you like mate.... Just drive slower!!! :0)

I had a amazing weekend........I want to thank John, Owlman, for letting me loose round the field in his car and with a bucket over my head (he was sat next to me giving me directions), Gary with his SDR Vstorm for putting up with me laughing whilst he drove round the treasure hunt course. Disco Si for the Archery lessons I think I may have found a hobby. Now for my apologies, I'm sorry for the screaming when I got to drive the tractor on my own. And last but not least Nicholas (shaft) ............that landy can shift and I have finally stopped shaking.

A Huge thank you to Phil for the idea and getting it off the ground running, To each and everyone who came along and made it a fab weekend and to everyone who had an input in making the weekend one to remember.
